Exactly what I pictured Michigan moms looking like (and their taste in dresses for that matter)

So is the goal to find the most drunk and bend her over in the back of the parking lot like at a normal prom?

2012-04-25 12:20:36 PM
Do they need any volunteer restroom attendants?

2012-04-25 12:32:22 PM
No thanks. It wasn't all that great the first time around.

I donated my old dress to the HS drama costume dept. Yeah, they mocked it heartily.

Ugly dresses, getting hammered, dancing badly, disappointing sex.

Just like their first prom.

2012-04-25 12:59:59 PM
You call them mom proms, I'll call them cougar corrals.

2012-04-25 01:06:04 PM
"They're for all women, not just Moms," said Mom Prom founder Betsy Crapps.

That is just an unfortunate name.

I mean, "Betsy"?

As long as the Mom Proms end up in MILF Filth, I'm OK with it.

That restraining order was unfair!

You were just cleaning the girls locker room and SOMEHOW got stuck in one of the lockers. And those cameras must have been someone else's, you don't even know how to use those.

Mature women reuse over-the-top dresses to have parties, the proceeds from which go to charity.

OMFG! Burn it with FIRE!! Warblgarbl!

amirite?

So if they get pregnant at prom do they try to pull the whole pregnant cheerleader mom look?

Depends... are they at that point where if you give 'em a compliment and a couple drinks, they'll almost beg you to put it in their pooper?

Since they're being held as more of a fundraiser, I don't see too much of a problem with this.

So some are fugly, big deal.

2012-04-25 01:54:14 PM
People do gimmicky shiat for charity all the time, not that turrible subby.

2012-04-25 01:55:07 PM
Let the moms go to their proms. We guys will stick with strippers and weed. Deal?

2012-04-25 01:55:52 PM
Ladies (using the term loosely) enough already. High school ended, you got older, let it go.

Not So CSB\

I took my elementary school aged daughters to the Daddy-Daughter dance at their school. There was not 1, not 2 but 3 moms (not working selling raffle tickets, etc) in prom-esk dresses present. At first I figured that dad just wasn't around so mom was doing the best she could but by the end of the night it was pretty obvious that dad was there too.

You see, the better dresses come from areas where there is a larger demograph of men with a sense of "fashion" if you will. Michagan, not so much. Yes you do have your occasional guys who know how to color co-ordinate or accessorize, but usually they just get bored and move to NYC.

Finding yourself caught at a venue having one of these could be a pretty interesting study in people whose best years have long passed.

Must be a plus for their dates, since you already know they put out.

My kids school did this as a fundraiser. My wife bought a whole new outfit for it just like it was the real deal. The girls had fun and they raised some needed funds.

I did not attend.

Yeah, a bunch of women doing gimmicky stuff for charity is really sick. I hate it when people have fun while promoting a cause of their choice. The temerity of it all.

I kind of think it's sad that formal balls have gone out of fashion for "normal" women. You'd be surprised at how many Army wives (and I'm assuming the trend is fairly universal through the military branches) say that one of the best things about the Army is the balls, the parties, the dining outs, etc.

News flash: Women LOVE to get dressed up in their best dress and go out dancing.

2012-04-25 02:02:44 PM
It appears to be something done to be silly and and not as serious thing.

I could see it becoming another way for bored suburban house wives with too much money, to try and out-compete each other. Its which case it would be rather pathetic.

This. I really, really miss dressing up. I swear I'm going to buy a ball gown just to hang on my wall like Kaylee.

That was kind of my take; I submitted this headline: On the one hand, it's nice they're raising money for charity. On the other hand, the idea of "mom proms" gives me almost as much of a sad as the existence of "Twilight moms"

Another Newsflash, most American men are overweight and slobby beyond measure - they don't care about appearance - hell many don't even have one decent suit, let alone something more formal. Women who like balls and fancy dresses would probably get more bang for their buck in another country...

"We're going to have men in tuxes serving the women. They're doing all the work. So it's a great idea," she laughed.

I'm going to sound the Castrating biatches alarm on this one. These are housewives bound to the past, living in Barbie's Dream House in which Ken has no dick. They compete to see who can still fit in the prom/bridesmaid dress from years ago. I'll wager they stopped farking the Mister after the last kid was born. Avoid these women. Do not let them breed in numbers or they will make a ruin of their land...and yours.

This. When I worked at FOX or at BET my girlfriend loved the formal Christmas parties. I recall one time standing with a group of male co-workers who were telling stories of how much their wives/ladies had been looking forward to one of the events.

Couldn't agree more. If they want to get dressed up and have a fund raiser I say more power to them but have some self respect. If you are going to get dressed up wear something that looks good with the shape of your body now. Don't go for the something you would have chosen at 18.

If you can truly pull off a mid-thigh hem line, good for you, so long as you can move and your varicose veins aren't so prevalent that they form a kind of de-facto cameo pattern.

\also ugly dresses are always ugly, they are easy to spot and there are plenty of examples of what looks good.

Women who like formal balls and fancy dresses are the ones referred to by the statement "don't stick your dick in crazy".

I read that as "mom perms" and I had a horrible flashback to the 70's and 80's. O_o
