Dumb question for any experts out there - is there any way to scrub off speed at that rate? I figure standing up would increase wind resistance, but anything else?

Carving (S-curves down the side of the hill) and sliding (dragging the palm of your glove on the pavement) are two fairly common methods. Though the straw bales on the outsides of the curves also offer a valid option.

Couldn't figure out why the straw bales were mostly perpendicular to the line of travel. Seemed like a nice way to ensure maximum air time when the boarder went off the cliff.

Seriously. I guess it's just my inner OSHA guy talking, but the first thing I thought when that video started was "shiat, that's what they're wearing? They should be doing this in full leathers."

Some of us just aren't fun people, I guess.
