Let those among us who have not at least considered, however briefly, demolishing a public utility building after opening a bill cast the first stone.

I'm don't know much about explosives but I am pretty sure the bomb components would cost more then that $14.

Sage words from the comments:
"$14 isn't a lot, unless you don't have it, I guess..."

Reminds me of my brother's famous saying:
"The deficit is bullshiat. Because when you go to the bank, and you say - gimme ten, twenty... hundred and twenty dollars, and they say no? You're screwed!"

I mean, sure, he's disabled... but still. Chilling words.

I got hit with a $400 dollar bill last month. About $200 more than typical. The power company was all apologetic and pointed at my meter. I can't really blame them but if I catch the neighbor leeching power from me I'll get all blowy uppy on his ass for sure.

Power company? What's that? I have a five thousand square foot solar area that supplies my entire house with electricity. If it's cloudy, then I simply activate the turbines on my six acre wind farm. If the wind's not blowing either, then I throw the switch on my water wheel, which means I can only run basic systems, but that's enough for me. And if the river is frozen, then I can't use the internet, so I just sit in the dark and tell myself how awesome I am. The size of my carbon footprint only depends on how many beans I had last night. Suck it you grid-shackled assholes!

Investigators say the call was never recorded, but the employee on the other end of the line will testify against Reed in court.

"The detective actually told me he heard [the call to OG&E], so I can't really argue with it if it's me," Reed said.

While I don't defend this dumbass, it sounds like someone in the police is messing with her.

I'll be the one to say it:

Typical inner-city type that feels entitled to everything for free, or at least at a heavily subsidized rate....all at taxpayer's expense.

How DARE they expect her to pay $14 when everyone else actually has to pay for how much electricity they use? Not her!!!

Take responsibility for the fact that YOUR decisions landed you where you are...and stop expecting everyone else to pay you for being a baby factory.

No kidding! I use an algae farm to produce the methane and lipids for my turbines, but ignoring such a pure source of methane is practically criminal!

The cops lied to her and told her they had heard the phone call to get her to confess. She was dumb enough to talk to them. Standard police tactic - lie to you and coerce you to confess. What a frickin' waste of resources. She's stupid for saying it - they're stupid for prosecuting it. I hate living here more and more every day.

I have an English degree. I TA language classes. I speak like a professor.

I say y'all.

It's a regional thing, and it's actually adherent to the rules and conventions of the English language. You can abbreviate/eliminate any letters or portions of a word so long as the apostrophe is in the right place. Of course, the construction "you all" very rarely fits into a proper sentence structure, but that's not the issue.

Where are you from? I hate your regional dialects. They annoy me.

Since I have a massive solar array on my roof, I can understand. When my power bill spikes to 38 bucks (like in January) I freak out. Why does somebody in Oregon have panels but Oklahoma doesn't? Truly we are a nation of idiots.

/10 of the bucks is the "Solar charge" my power company charges me.

It's probably going to cost the tax payers more to put her in jail than it would be to leave her be, at least in the short term.

Oh goody, another inner-city, self-entitled, angry black woman. I know it must be difficult paying off a $14 electric bill, but maybe,,,just maybe.....you shouldn't have had six babies with 5 different men.

"I don't have a criminal record," Reed said. "I'm struggling to pay $40 a month for rent. How the hell am I to buy some bomb equipment. I don't even know how to make a bomb."

Reed says she wishes she would have done things differently. As for that electric bill, she is still not convinced she should have to pay. Reed is protesting a bill in the amount of $14.

You know, I'm all for welfare, absolutely for increasing the minimum wage and I don't know this lady's particular details. But you're struggling to pay $40 a month for rent? You do realize, a single day at minimum wage will pay your rent. Man, you're just killing me.
