Does he get a yellow for taking his shirt off, and if so does it rule him out of the final?

135 minutes in the Bernabeu are very long.

Game is over once the pen is counted, so nope, he's free to go shirtless.

Great penalty by Baggio Ramos there.

So. Farking. Happy. I want to marry Schweinsteiger. Nothing sexual about it, I just want to be legally bonded to that man.

Considering the anti-climatic SFs last year. These more than made up for it.

Where's that first thread again talking about Madrid and Barca in the final? ;)

So what's the final list of people who got carded out of this one?

marius2: Where's that first thread again talking about Madrid and Barca in the final? ;)

Actually, thank god that didn't happen. Even as a nominal Barca fan, I'm waaaaaay over the Clasico fascination for awhile.

2012-04-25 05:27:16 PM
so is this more of the clasico fever I heard about last week? Link
just curious

Everyone's out except you. Good luck, we're all counting on you.

Haha, German TV can't do their usual contentless post-game interviews because all the players are still out there celebrating with the fans. :-)

I assume this occurrence is somewhat frequent, but I'm too lazy to look it up - How often does the UCL final include two teams that will not win their league in the same season?

Amazing game. I can't imagine how much tickets are going to go for in Munich.

Technically happened in both 2005 and 2007, since Liverpool and AC Milan didn't win their leagues in those years (only reason Milan didn't in 05 is because of the calciopolli scandal). As for overall stats, I have no idea.

I believe both of the Liverpool/Milan finals fit... not sure about others off the top of my head

Since Porto beat Monaco, including this year, the CL finalists will have been 8 English teams, 3 Italian, 3 Spanish and 2 German. The 8 non-English appearances feature only 4 different clubs.

Not a fan of any of the teams, just glad Barca & Real are out. Even as weird as it sounds that Chelsea and Bayern Munich were underdogs. (wish I put $ on the games).

If you had put even a nickel on it, it would have gone against you and we'd have a Champions League El Clasico final. I'm glad you didn't bet.

Here's Mario Ballotelli's take on the penalty takers.

2012-04-25 08:18:36 PM
^Lol.

Bayern really should've wrapped this up in normal time. Robben and Mario missed some howlers.

Once 120 minutes were up, there was only gonna be one winner, although Munich tried their best to kill that cliche once and for all.

Always hated him, and with that tackle on Song, I hope he crashes all the way down the career ladder.

That should have been a straight red, and I'm confident that no top shelf team will want a locker room cancer like him. I think City is stuck with him until his contract runs out. I hope he wrecks their locker room completely.

Is this where we discuss three mid-table Spanish teams and a Portuguese team making up the semi-final for a European trophy?

Or do I have to wait until Saturday to talk about Stoke playing Swansea?

Athletic Bilbao has been on a tear! I love watching them play, I need to catch a replay of today's game.
