4NSpy: 2wolves: zippolight2002: How was that not goaltender interference? I'm a wings fan, and I've seen a hell of alot less contact get called.

You don't complain about officiating or you start sounding like a Seahawks fan.

You must be new to the NHL. Detroit fans are way worse than seahawk fans.

Except the wings are out and I have no dog in this fight. If anything, I wanted the Bruins to lose so I wouldn't have to deal with smug boston fans shoving it down my throat all summer.

So I'm watching NHL Tonight and they showed the end of OT on the CBC feed (I was watching NBC in the U.S., meh) and the announcer said after the goal the fans looked stunned and "they did not think their team would be shaking hands tonight."

So... did the fans think there was gonna be a game 8 or something?!?

ytterbium: I hope you Bruins fans stick around, you're awesome.

I'll stick around. The Bruins may be my team, but hockey is my sport

Been following the Pens since the only TV they were on was the local Pittsburgh UHF channel.

HeathenHealer: I'm really glad there's going to be new teams in the Cup finals. Not sure who i'm rooting for out of the West, but i'm leaning towards St. Louis. I really like the way they play. I guess i'd like to see the Flyers out of the East, just for the lol's.

This is the matchup I called, two different styles would be very entertaining. The blue and orange would be blinding.

A very popular position.

Which team are you pulling for now (if you had to choose)

Thanks for everything, Timmy. See you anywhere but Boston next year.

OK, please help me out here. You're a Maple Leafs fan. As far as I know, we've got no beef with you. Why do you hate us again? And if it has something to do with the Kessel trade, blame Brian Burke for that, not us. We can't control what your GM does.

really? are you new to hockey? leafs and bruins hate each other

? it's an honest question. Plenty of time to stop, but still bumps the goalie trying to make a save.

Doesn't matter as there will be no reversal of the outcome of the game.

It doesn't matter.

Period.

Congrats Caps fans. Hell of a series. It hurts that my Bs are out, but shiat, Washington gave us nothing. It is what it is. They played an almost perfect 7 games against us. We did a good job too. Could've gone either way. I'm glad it stayed pretty clean and honest on both sides. Good hockey. Good luck the rest of the way, Caps!

I've been a Bruins fan since 1994 or so(when I was about 14). I was never aware of any rivalry we had with Toronto. Montreal, yes. Vancouver, we do now. Toronto...not so much, at least mind. You guys never seemed like a threat to us. However, given that we dumped a crap player on you and got good draft picks from it, and we dumped a crap goaltender on you for a prospect that has blossomed, and we're divison 'rivals', I can see it.

Doesn't mean I care about this particular rivalry, but I can see it.

It's understandable. The Bruins losing a playoff series is the most post season excitement Toronto has seen in years.

Wow. That was an EPIC hockey series. Holtby manned up for all 7 games. OV was nowhere, but it seemed like Smein tried to show up for the series.

Toughest part now is figuring out where the Bruins need help. No real glaring weaknesses. Is it coaching? I think maybe it is.

Bergeron shouldn't have even been playing

I think the B's were just burnt out

They didn't play at all like they did in last years playoffs

Impartial observer here (I think...as an Ottawa fan):

It was mentioned upthread, but I wonder how much incidental contact it would take for a ref to actually wave off a series-winning goal like that. It seems like Knuble toed that line, since his late stop following up on his backhander definitely lifted Thomas' pad enough for Ward to slide the rebound through... but it didn't look blatant in real time.

Has anyone ever seen an OT series-clincher called back over 'goalie interference'? I assume it'd be easier on an away goal such as this, but when it's not a bowl-over, that'd be a ballsy call to make...

/Those from Buffalo need not respond

why on earth are both games overlapping?? Turrible

Both are in the eastern time zone, not much they can do. Somebody might get pissed about a 6pm and 9pm start.

Overlap or not, I'm still supposed to be on the road for work until 9, and to make matters worse, SOBER!

GO SENS GO!

Anyone in Ottawa, if your DSL/phone service goes down tomorrow night after puck drop, I ain't gonna be the one to fix it
