Does it have to be any one particular Tim Tebow?

Remember, it's not that anyone dislikes Tim Tebow as a person. They just don't think he's a good quarterback.

That depends on what you mean by "it".

Pretty much that. Only thing I hate about him is the Tebow hype

Or, to quote another Farker, "If Tebow had as many dicks sticking out of him as he has had stuck into him, he would look like a porcupine."

I was thinking of the ashley madison website... but, Tebow too is getting ridiculous press from this. so, it's a win-win?

/ in the film-noir of my imagination, tebow fronted the money for the million dollar reward, both for the publicity and to hunt someone down.
// but, seriously, the kind of people who like tebow for his virginity are probably the very market that ashley madison wants to tap into.

turtleking: well....Elway Farked him

How so? The Broncos traded him where he wanted to go (among the choices) and took slightly less compensation than they could have gotten from JVille. He'll get a chance to play in NY, when he wouldn't have in Denver. Elway did him a favor.

No one sarcastically saying the opposing position in the NFL Top 10 Heisman Winners thread was a real loss. You'd think those who engage in the unending Tebow Wars would've jumped on that.

muck4doo: This is really the stupidest thing I've seen since McNabb said he belongs in the Hall of Fame.

If Jim Kelly can get in during his first year of eligibility, than McNabb can get in eventually. Both of them had similar total stats over 11 years, and neither of them won a Super Bowl.

Kelly: 60.1% completion rate, 35,467 yards, 84.4 rating
McNabb: 58.9% completion rate, 35,139 yards, 85.8 rating

Kelly threw more per pass, but he also had 60+ more career interceptions than McNabb while having only 12 more TDs.

I could take it or leave it on McNabb being added, but there is precedent based on his career performance when compared to prior honorees. He only looks average because he is being compared to the stat monsters (Mannings, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, et al) he was sharing the field with the past few years.

Each HOF candidate has to be considered amongst his peers in his era. Jim Kelly was an elite QB in his era. McNabb, not so much.

Didn't Kelly spend a couple of years in another league? (another 10K professional passing yards - It's the "Pro Football Hall of Fame", right?)
It is tough comparing statistics especially one like INTs when DBs were allowed to do a lot more to a receiver during Kelly's era than McNabb's.

if we want to compare stats irrespective or eras and say players in the current era only have to match those of a previous era's HOF players then we will need to build 10 more halls for the wide receivers alone

That and did McNabb make it to four straight Super Bowls? Did he show the league you can run a no huddle all the time, changing the game?

In all fairness, only one of those Buffalo teams was even the third best team in the league at the time. Those were the years where the NFC Title Game was indeed the real Championship Game.

But I do agree with your point. Someone had to win the AFC and he got that job done with his team.

A.C. Green played 1192 straight games as a virgin and I dont remember any big money offers to prove otherwise.

/Won a 6 pack on a Tebow bet this last season
//Bet was whether he would win a playoff game as starting QB before he changed positions/retired
///Bet was made in late Oct or early Nov

"I have never felt comfortable around people who talk about their feelings for Jesus, or any other deity for that matter, because they are usually none too bright... Or maybe "stupid" is a better way of saying it; but I have never seen much point in getting heavy with either stupid people or Jesus freaks, just as long as they don't bother me. In a world as weird and cruel as this one we have made for ourselves, I figure anybody who can find peace and personal happiness without ripping off somebody else deserves to be left alone. They will not inherit the earth, but then neither will I... And I have learned to live, as it were, with the idea that I will never find peace and happiness, either. But as long as I know there's a pretty good chance I can get my hands on either one of them every once in a while, I do the best I can between high spots."

-Hunter S. Thompson

/I wish Tebow would tone down the Jesus stuff, but he does seem like a genuinely nice guy. Leave him alone.

It's a cheap and pathetic way for the website to get publicity because I think everyone here knows at least one or two gold diggers will try to claim that money even though they've never had sex with Tebow. They may as well have accused the kid of rape because his name is going to get dragged through the mud in the process anyway.
