Time takes a cigarette, puts it in your mouth. You pull on your finger, then another finger, then your cigarette. The wall-to-wall is calling, it lingers, then you forget

I bet his fellow band mates are regretting their choice of name now. The should've gone with Persons of Interest or Suspects.

When I was in college there was a house that put on mostly punk-rock shows in town. They would take money at the door, and the whole upstairs was setup for the band and audience. It was a pretty cool place, they called it "The Solar Haus" for whatever reason.

Anyways, one night the band "Death By Stereo" played a show there. It got a little animated inside, and a group of people got pushed against a mattress that was covering a window. The entire window came out of the frame, and the mattress plus about 5-6 people fell out of the opening and down 2.5 stories to a concrete driveway below. 2-3 people were killed. Granted, the stereo itself was not the cause of death, but I always wondered if they regretted their band name after that.

I wonder if his mentor, Clarence from The Beatles (when they used to be called 'The Clarences') is shook up over this...

I think he was often alluded to as the 27th Beatle. RIP music guy.

/So how'd the sax player die?

The other weird thing about the people falling out of the window at The SOlar Haus and dying...

One of my good friends and co-workers lived at the house and organized shows. I was studying architecture at the time, and having been to a couple shows at the house I asked a little about the fllor construction. My friend was living there when they installed a new reinforced concrete floor, and gave me some approximate dimensions.

I couldn't go to the Death By Stereo show mentioned before because I had a structures mid-term the next morning, specifically doing structural analysis of reinfoced concrete structures. As a fun way to do some extra test prep, I crunched the numbers based on what my friend told me, and came up with the maximum loads the floor could handle. The calculations showed that the floor was more than adequate even if they had people crammed in shoulder to shoulder.

I drew a little Punk-Rock-Devil-Horns-Fist, and wrote "The Solar Haus is Safe to Rock!" below my calculations in my sketchbook. That was the exact night of the show, and almost down to the hour of when the people fell and got killed.

/By a weird coincidence I also was friends with one of the guys who fell out, but hadn't seen him in a couple years. He only spent a short time in the hospital.
