Hey Libs: open your minds for 1 minute, and ask yourselves this:

Q: Why are students being threatened with interest rate increases in the first place?

A: Because the loan came from Big Government.

If they had borrowed from a private bank, that bank would have no exceptional power over them. If they wanted to increase the rate, you could wave your contract in their face and assert your rights. "I agreed to this rate, and I won't pay more." And the law would be on your side, and you would know every detail of the agreement.

Instead, Ostupid and the Dems, demanded a Federal take over of this business. So now, you are powerless. You have no ability to negotiate a rate or a settlement if you went bankrupt. They promised you something for nothing, and you end up a serf.

See how that works?

Same with Social Security, which should be privatised. Same with ObamaCare. Same with 80% of what the Government does. They offer you something for nothing, and you end up a supplicant in what was once a country of free men.

Your wrongness is incredible.

1. The change is prospective for Federal loans. The gov't has not, and cannot, change rates retroactively (under current law). What you agreed to with the gov't is still in place, and the previous rate for Fed loans had the great benefit of being about 3.4% interest. Private lenders lend at (3%-10%+) + LIBOR (the private market for loans is filed with gaugers).

http://www.finaid.org/loans/privatestudentloans.phtml (Scroll down to chart).

2. Private banks DO have exceptional power over you in that since 2005, Private Student loans are not dischargeable in bankruptcy absent "undue hardship" (ie, you are permanently poor and disabled).

Also, your convoluted "something for nothing turns us into supplicants instead of freemen" is absurd. There are some things that are in the public good that do not function well as 'for profit' institutions. Education, healthcare, social security are good examples of that. These are not something for nothing propositions, they are paid for by all of our taxes and supply a greater good to all of society. Or is paying taxes to get a healthy, educated society secure in their retirement not a social good worth supporting? Instead we should all live in a vicious race to the bottom free-for-all of preying on each other at every turn?

At least the gov't is (supposedly) accountable to the ballot box and restrained by the Constitution. Private corporations have no obligation to you ever except those enforced by the gov't. Try holding a corp. responsible for your vanished retirement savings after it liquidates, the best shot you would have is a longshot in court (you know, those gov't institutions we pay taxes for).

See how THAT works?

/No, you probably don't.

Methinks Rush's wife told him she is filing for divorce, period. He was doing ok keeping his mouth shut until she did that, so he figures he has nothing to lose now.

If men were the ones that got pregnant, then birth control wouldn't even be an issue. There would be more abortion clinics than post offices.

All this "slut-shaming" is f*cking ridiculous and needs to stop.

Sofa King Smart: Jake Havechek: So we should all follow Bristol Palin's example?

or Queen of the Tundra, Sarah's? She was pregnant when she got married.
wedding date is August 29, 1988
Track's birthdate is April 20, 1989

do the math. 7 months, 21 days between wedding and first child's birth.

So between Track, Trig, and Tracks new kid, that makes 3 bastards in the Palin clan.

plaino: And she did get married and has her own money so she doesn't rely on the government for, again....whats your point??

No, Bristol didn't get married. Where you been, Mars?

no. Trig is not a bastard, Trig is the tard...
Tripp (Easton Mitchell Johnston) (Bristol's baby) is the first second-generation bastard...
Track's little out-of-wedlock bundle of joy is a girl named Kyla Grace Palin which would make her the second second-generation bastard.

(note: his now wife is named Britta... so they probably like clean water, tv show community and if you combine Kyla Grace with Britta you get KGB and I think that is self explanatory. she'll never be lost because Sarah can always see her from her house.)

/it's ok... trig... tripp.. track....one or all could be retarded and/or bastards it's so hard to tell with that family.
