JusticeandIndependence: OUTRAGE

This is 'meh'.

What ALEC is doing is an outrage.

2012-04-24 04:44:31 PM
Seriously though, what in the shiatting fark was she trying to say here?

2012-04-24 04:44:39 PM
Thank you Ann, for taking what would otherwise be a worthwhile hammer-point and turning around and saying something... well, something that obscenely rich people say and poor people hear and wonder just how much trouble it really would be to get some torches and pitchforks.

2012-04-24 04:45:23 PM
I sure hope that Fox News picks up on this incredibly stupid thing to say and reports the hell out of it.

Any moment now...

Nothing yet. Neil Cavuto is covering Santorum not endorsing Romney.

Maybe after this. Or OOooo! "The Five" will definitely cover such a blistering attack on women!

Any moment now...

Waiting...

The My Little Pony Killer: Can we declare open season on this brainless blonde floozy already?

We should probably agree to leave family alone.

To be fair to Mrs. Romney, the compitition among poor women for jobs probably does keep maid/nanny costs down.

Yeah, she's not helping him.

Unless she now has a huge tumor right on top of the speech area of her brain, this woman gets no slack for being monumentally stupid.

I've heard nonverbal retards say less stupid things than that.

Between this and the faux outrage of Michelle Obama actually sweating in the White House I can't help but think "Is this as low as our system become?" Come on folks, there are real problems and real issues that need to be addressed and here we are worrying about in artfully expressed thoughts not by the candidates but by their spouses. Can't our society do better than this or have we sunk this low.

Just a slip of the tongue, nothing to get worked up over. Now when it comes out that they force their housekeepers to work unpaid overtime on Christmas even though they have a family of 4 back home to take care of, then you can get outraged.

/Focus on actions, not rhetoric
//For those you support as well as those you oppose

Didn't W think it was great that some single mom had to work 3 jobs?

"Fix" as in "spay"?

I don't know about Ann but I will bet you Rmoney doesn't listen to his staff. He's not accustomed to being challenged on anything. So the staff goes into perpetual reaction mode, waiting for his next slip up.

Sounds like a winning formula for a president

1. No one is worrying about it. It was a stupid thing to say and there's no reason that shouldn't be noted. No outrage required.

2.Politics have been like this essentially forever. This may be an indictment of our media, but it isn't a symptom of impending societal downfall.

3.Welcome to Fark

Jackson Herring: Seriously though, what in the shiatting fark was she trying to say here?

I think she's saying it's good we, as a country, value stay-at-home moms, so that we can push back against her party's attempts to demonize them.

2012-04-24 04:51:43 PM
Wow, she actually said it.

Nadie_AZ: People keep mentioning how he makes an ass of himself in trying to connect to everyone. It reminds me of the 'Building Relationships of Trust' training we received while in the Missionary Training Center. And if you think he is having problems connecting with poor and middle class people, try watching a 19 year old virgin (in every sense of the word) commiserate with older adults with a wide range of day to day issues ranging from divorce to death to other crisis that lead to people questioning their beliefs and opening the door to religious representatives not of their own religion.

I wonder how good he was. He seems to get really testy when people challenge him or don't just simply accept what he has to offer.

proteus_b: regardless of whether or not mrs. romney is a clueless nincompoop, it's hard to take seriously any article which uses the term "gender pay gap" in utter seriousness.

Yeah, it's not as if a gender pay gap actually exists or anything.

Based on Romney's tax plan it'd be stupid not to paint him as out of touch with the needs of poor and middle class people.

I'm sure Mitt Romney listens to his staff. I'm equally sure Romney's staff is full of people who say nothing other than "That's a great idea, Governor!"

Part of it is arrogance. But with Romney a large part of it is that he's simply not used to it. He's always been the top dog in all of his endeavors and hasn't had to deal with dissension or disagreement. He was the boss.

In 1996, state and national Democrats danced the god damn macarena at most of their public appearances. Yup. Hillary did too. I saw her do it, live, in person.

There are at least cultural and socioeconomic subtexts to this discussion about Ann Romney.

There has always been a gender pay gap, this isn't a new thing.

That has to be it. I mean how else do you fark up having empathy for people so badly like she did?

2012-04-24 04:57:43 PM

Jackson Herring: Seriously though, what in the shiatting fark was she trying to say here?

She was trying to empathize and sympathize with working class mothers by expressing love and attempting to make it seem like that she understands the hardships they endure because they are all women and mothers. The Romney's are desperate to shake the lock that Obama seems to have on women and to seem like they are salt of the Earth ordinary people.

The reality is she and her husband are so far removed from the middle class, let alone the poor, that every time they open their mouths and try to connect with the little people they just come off sounding like gigantic assholes.

I'm hoping that at some point, be it at a debate with Obama or elsewhere that someone get's him to really lose his shiat. The 10K bet thing with Perry was damn close. The guy's an asshat and if I had to bet he's a class A jerk in his normal life.

I can just imagine the cruel and sadistic joking that went on at Bain Capital during board meetings where they were about to tear some company up and lay off workers.
probably enough to make you puke.
