Barcelona, like in the first leg, did everything but the only thing that counts: score when they had to.

Great disciplined effort from Chelsea, good luck in the final.

2012-04-24 04:37:19 PM
There must be some sort of error, BBC's commentary says that Torres scored.

2012-04-24 04:37:37 PM
Tally of Chelsea players now suspended for the final:

Ivanovic
Terry
Ramires
Mikel
Meireles

RDM better get fitted for a kit.

What he said.

/Was just thinking "damn, it would be funny if Torres was the one who sealed the deal" then he scored.

Barça has the best team ever, so be proud, Catalans!

2012-04-24 04:39:05 PM
Wow! The end of an era for Barca.

2012-04-24 04:39:06 PM
Poor Barca, still very classy.

2012-04-24 04:39:15 PM
yes!

The way Torres gracefully leapt over Valdes like a wispy blond spanish gazelle... Nando I can't hate you. Kisses

Could be a reserve final. Bayern has 7 pre-booked.

So missing for Chelsea in the final are Terry, Ivanovic, Ramires, Meireles, anyone else?

LOL reading fail thx Stan.

Should they end up facing Bayern: not necessarily.
IIRC, Bayern has five guys who should avoid getting a yellow tomorrow..

2012-04-24 04:45:31 PM
Seems appropriate

You know, my father used to say to me, " 'Nando, don't be a schnook.
It's not how you feel, it's how. You. Look!"
He was mahvelous!
But you, dahling, hmmmm, you look mahvelous!
Absolutely mahvelous!

In other news, shiat just got real for Newcastle and Arsenal

2012-04-24 04:46:23 PM
Can you imagine BloodFireDeath if RM get La Liga and CL?

2012-04-24 04:46:33 PM
So, how many more like that until Torres' debt is repaid? Or does this take care of it all?

2012-04-24 04:46:59 PM
GQueue: sotua: Italy parks the bus: Oh, that stinking catenaccio!

Chelsea parks the bus: Oh pleez oh pleez oh pleez hold on!

It's a wee bit more understandable when you're playing with 10, if you ask me.

Sure, if Chelsea had had any plans of attacking before losing Terry to that bonehead move. But it's the same as the 1st leg, where Barcelona ended up with 75% posession, in England.

/well, it's "Go Chelsea" now... anybody but farking CRonaldo winning the CL!

He nets the winner in the CL final, he'll have a statue at the Bridge. Roman might even give him one of those tiny giraffes.

Didn't believe when I heard, believe it even less as I see it. That wasn't riding their luck, that was everything breaking *against* them and they still go through.

Sounds like the 03-04 CL QF v. Arsenal: Did everything right except score. Same applies to Barca, had everything going their way but wet their pants in front of goal.

Chelsea's still screwed in the final: you either get Real (with Mourinho, and won't that have the tabloids' tongues wagging) or Bayern (on their home pitch).

Whew.

being down 10 men in camp you and behind on aggregates was the toughest enough

carnifex2005: Wow! The end of an era for Barca.

Uh, really? You realize that many of their key players aren't even 26 years old? They haven't hit their peak yet. If anything, this'll motivate Barca for next season.

For Chelsea? Win or lose it's the last hurrah for them. Barca's still got their peak years ahead of them.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. That's going to be good. Farking Spurs had to screw it all up.

Didn't help that every decision went against Chelsea...and they still went through.

Revenge for that night in Stanford Bridge? I'd say so.

I just want to say

SON OF A SH*T!!!!

I love you anyway, Barça.

Goddammit. Must EVERYTHING happen in one match?

GG Chelsea.

Wow what a game. Thrilled that Chelsea are through. I wonder what club John Terry will be playing for next year.

Fair play to Chelsea. They may have moron fans and an idiot as captain but they did well to reach the final.

But they will lose both finals. ;)

Sorry to hear it, squealie, but it's hard for me to say anything bad about Chelsea's victory away. I'm impressed with them holding on, I called them out after John Terry was sent off. I thought it was over.

For all my fellow culés. It's easy to forget the good parts in a match like tonight. Don't lose hope. Copa del Rey can still be ours. ;)

One question: why wasn't Torres offside in that goal?

I think he started his run from inside his own half when the pass was given.
