In fairness, Communism and Fascism have a ton in common. Especially when you start looking at State Communism as practiced versus Marx Communism, the lines get pretty blurry in the difference.

"We said from the very beginning ... we were going to get this building in fighting shape for the Republican nominee, and part of that - in today's news cycle, 24/7 - is to be on things instantly," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. That means having transcripts of all President Obama's speeches at the ready, and responding immediately any time there is a gaffe by a the president, vice president, or a Democratic operative.

And this is why you fail. You should be crafting policy and planning long term growth of the country. Asshole.

Because that's what the Democrats are doing? Look at what happens when Romney makes a stupid cookie joke. Let's not pretend this isn't exactly what both sides do. At least he is honest about it.

Imagine a candidate, if you will...
- Who is totally beholden to powerful financial and corporate tycoons, just not as much as us.
- Who kills and indefinitely jails people who MIGHT be terrorists, but not as incompetently as us.
- Who has cut everyone's taxes, but not as much for the rich as we would.
- Who has increased illegal immigrant deportations, but not heaped as much scorn on them as we would.
- Who has watered down financial regulations and health reform, but not killed it as we would.
- Who has increased oil drilling to record levels, but not used our "Drill baby drill" catchphrase.

THIS, MY FRIENDS, IS THE ENEMY WE FACE! We must defeat his evil at ANY COST!

In fairness, oil drilling increases has been in spite of Obama, not because of. Largely driven by private land oil fracking. And taxes are because he didn't have the capital to push through an upper class tax hike. But I'd agree with the rest. Both parties are nothing but pawns of the special interests.

By those definitions, it's very much possible to be a communist and a fascist.

Joseph Stalin was a Communist and a fascist. Soviet Communism featured collective ownership of all property, aggressive nationalism, and a totalitarian leader.

Same is true for present-day North Korea. You have aggressive nationalism, collective ownership of all property, and a totalitarian ruler.

In fact, I'd argue that fascism is the inevitable end state of communism. Once you give the state ownership of all property that level of power will be inevitably misused to the benefit of the most power-hungry.

However, Obama is neither a Communist nor a fascist. Call him a Fabian socialist or a transnational progressivist, but he's not a communist or a fascist.

Valid point. While the government can control the approval of drilling permits, they aren't the ones driving the decision to drill so much. Then again, we all know that Obama is plotting to raise the price of gas to $8/gallon.

Unfortunately for him he made the comment in 2008 while campaigning that we need high gas prices to drive alternative energy. Now that we are sitting up at the same level Obama approved of before, it is hard to make the case he had any interest in keeping prices down. Fair enough?
