Is this where we claim superiority for not being one of them?

I wonder how accurate this really is. I have two accounts (a personal one and a work related one). Then I have an account for some stupid band i was going to start, but never did...just like that novel I am writing.

Anyway, I account for three FB profiles and I am but one man. How many of those 901M are unique users?

Another anecdotal story, my ex gf had four profiles to help with her "farming." I have now accounted for 7 of the 901M, anyone else?

Yes, if we want it to be that thread again.

Mr.Tangent: Is this where we claim superiority for not being one of them?

Is it really that difficult?

This ain't exactly "I don't own a TV". I quit Facebook because my timeline was just full of Farmville, Mafia Wars, long-lost relatives that I'd never met before and who were a bit creepy and other bullshiat. I also realised that everyone I wanted to talk to had gone to Twitter.

I wonder if their metrics count people who are no longer active or people who have deactivated their accounts.

I'd be willing to bet, as they get ready for their IPO, that Facebook is doing everything they can to make their numbers look overwhelming. And then, when investors sink their money into Facebook, it'll come out (much like it did with Myspace after News Corp acquired them) that a lot of the accounts are inactive, bogus or otherwise useless.

Yeah Facebook is seriously dying (not sarcasm).

Even my wife (26 years old) is getting bored with it. The younger generation has already moved on to Instagram, Twitter, etc. No one cares anymore. And it's right on time with it's IPO. That'll be it's peak before the death-drop. Another MySpace. Ebb and flow.

The 2000's will be known as the time period that took the phrase "social networking", and ran it so far into the ground you can't see it anymore. Texting is the biggest social platform, but how do you monetize that? They have those chat apps for smartphones, are they advertising based? I don't use them so I'm seriously not sure. I know they're free to download and use though. You could sell the content of the conversations.

70 million hectares of fake farmland seems low.

Farmville acreage probably exceeds the surface area of the earth by now.

I'm aware of that...... my point was that people care less and less about Facebook.
