Did they violate her volvo?

2012-04-24 09:31:24 AM
It was one of the fauxrarri fieros. They thought he was a high roller until they got in and realized it was really a fiero and he was broke so they wanted to back out, but he wouldn't take no for an answer

2012-04-24 09:38:37 AM
Heh, I used to have a Fiero. It was a bit like street luge with an engine.

Wouldn't the actual charge be theft of services?

2012-04-24 10:27:12 AM
So he didn't pay them?

But as a Pontiac we can be sure it was covered in 200 pounds of body cladding and ground effects.

He probably thought it was a corvette.

So can he plead the charges down to theft of services?

You know, for it to be theft of services, the services would have to be legal in the first place. So, no, it's not theft of service.

Um. No.

Well, no.

Rape is pretty much rape. And guys who commit it, regardless of if the victim is a hooker, really should be castrated. With a rusty butter knife. I really really hot rusty butter knife. Then lemon juice poured on the steaming ruins that would have been the location of their nuts.

And, around here at least, sex between adults also has to be non-consensual for it to be rape.

I'm gonna go with "theft of services".

Oh and this is fun, "Detectives were out here for about the last week and they were picking us up and they weren't worried about the drugs or anything like that. They just wanted to know where this guy was."

Which, after reading all the details instead of just scanning the article, would be a hard charge to make if there were only one victim.

So if he agrees to pay they will drop the rape charges ?

So just send him to a collection agency. There's no reason to get all arresty.

Scary tag? Spiffy is more like it. Thanks to the help of a hooker who overcame her fear of the police - and then the efforts of those police (who were much more concerned with catching the bad guy than harrasing working girls) - a serial rapist was captured.

The only thing lower than a serial rapist is a serial killer, but it's surprising how often the two overlap. I'm glad the scum is off the street.

jehovahs witness protection: Wouldn't the actual charge be theft of services?

Even if the deal were illegal as prostitution is in this area, there was no deal negotiated. Theft of services would require an agreed upon deal, with no payment at the end of the deal. That being said, I have absolutely no idea when prostitutes and johns do their negotiating, be it in the car, or wherever the deed is to be done.

If the rapist hadn't been so flagrant about repeating the crime with a set of the same victims he probably wouldn't see prosecution. I would think that the burden to prove beyond a reasonable doubt would be very, very high, and even if authorities managed to establish that sexual penetration occurred, the defendant could fairly simply lie and say he did pay for it. He might be prosecuted for his involvement in prostitution, but it would be very hard to refute that, and becomes a he-said-she-said situation about the act of payment instead of the act of rape.

I've seen car collectors who are into Yugos, into Citroen C2Vs, and into Soviet Bloc cars. At least a Fiero has good weight distribution and corners well, even if its antenna ends at a height that it could accidentally go up your nose and embed in your sinus cavity...

The original Fiero was something of the epitome of wedge-of-cheese 80s design, like the Toyota MR2 or the VW GTI. I could see it being collectible for that reason. The last model year they went with a more streamlined design, which was more aesthetically pleasing, but the legacy of oil fires in the earlier models had already put the kibosh on the product line. That would be collectible for its rarity, I suppose.

Basically, I got nothin.

Or the Triumph TR-7/8

The problem with the Triumph was legendary unreliability. Just about every driving example I've run into has had the original engine replaced with something else - even Rover engines were considered more reliable. And the build quality was shiat, with plenty of cheap plastic in the cockpit.

Always loved the look, but they were terrible cars even for British Leyland.

She, hysterically:

"Oh my God! Oh my God! I was raped!"

Yeah, I loved the look too, but even at 16 knew to look but not touch.

But I had my heart set on a Lotus Turbo Espirit 4-banger, anyway, which also had that wedge-like 80s look and could drive like a bat outta hell. Not that I ever got to drive one, but a boy has his dreams.
