The National Retard Org. gets too many greens.

At this rate, even Obama won't vote for Obama.

Its easier to make more money under the table as a Senator to be sure. Living in the White House brings more singular scrutiny and the First Lady isn't going to be bringing in income like she could be before. But I suspect this is more about carving out a paragraph from page 90-91 of this book and inductively extrapolating to some imaginary whole, or maybe its a half-assed attempt at concern trolling.

This is the previous paragraph to the NRO one. You can read this section for yourself at Google Books. Do a search for the unlikely word "fearsomely" in the book and it will take you there. Its an interesting read, suggesting that [gasp] there are some human strains in relationships when one spouses career takes off and that makes the other spouse have to fit into a specific role. The NRO-cited paragraph does seem to stick out a bit.

Obama is reckless with the money he stole as president of Kenya while simultaneously doing nothing to give us jobs, amirite?

I don't even want to know.

From vacation rental homes big enough to accommodate the Secret Service to all the personal entertaining they did at the White House, their lifestyle had grown fearsomely expensive.

The fluffer squad for the 1%er club is concerned about the Obama's spending?

Oh FFS, NRO.

STFU and DIAF.

First green on the politics tab today is from National Rtard?

This is gonna be a long day, isn't it?

Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?

Sure, because 4 years ago you were either in high school or college. But the rest of us that aren't on food stamps - no.

So if you love being a food stamp person, vote to reelect the clueless one

That is one awesome pic, if only for the mouth-frothing, brain-asploding potential it has for right-wingers.

Why yes, I am better off than 4 years ago. Thank you for asking.

He had a best-seller book when he ran for and became President, which accounted for almost all of his 2009 income. Obviously, sales of the book have since plummeted. The big story would be if they had kept up their previous pace.

Refuse to ADMIT, so you know it's true, you just don't want to confirm it by saying it out loud.

I'm 43 I haven't seen the inside of a classroom in 20 years and yes I am doing better now than I was 4 years ago, I even started my own business this year.

Once he's left office he'll make a killing doing lectures and speaking engagements

EnviroDude: Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?

Abso-friggin-loutely. And no, I wasn't in college 4 years ago - I was unemployed and living on my savings because the economy had crashed due to...we'll say human mismanagement. I've got an awesome job where I get to stay home most of the time, own an awesome little place / plot of land, and my savings has been rebuilt. In the last 4 years.

/I got mine. Surely you're boot strappy enough to get yours?

Same here... I'm 40 and things have been looking up for the last year. My business is up, I'm making a little more money, and I'm getting caught up on bills that had to take a back seat while the wife was unemployed. She's back in school now and working part time.

Obama doesn't have much to do with that, but by any measure, we're doing better than we were four years ago. Well, that's a lie, the unemployment extension was a big help, and on the local level, having Commonwealth Care as an option for health insurance was very helpful and still is.

So, the next question is, why is EnviroDude depending on Obama to make things better for him? Sound like your typical lazy, societal leach, who doesn't want to work hard to make a better life for himself...

EnviroDude: Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?

Yes I am. Both my wife and I were working then as we are now but we've both had a couple raises plus four years ago about 20% of the houses in my neighborhood were vacant now there are only a couple. Things have gotten much better.

Britney Spear's Speculum: The National Retard Org. gets too many greens.

And they certainly don't pick trolling submissions to green.

I really don't expect much from teabaggers except hypocrisy, ignorance and the banging of tiny fists in impotent rage.

I'm sure he is just dreading the poor house.

I mean, besides the hundred million dollars he is going to make in speaking fees and a book deal when he leaves office.

I bet the Obamas divorce over the money issue

EnviroDude: Sure, because 4 years ago you were either in high school or college. But the rest of us that aren't on food stamps - no.

That's awfully cute. I'm 39 and finished graduate school over a decade ago. I'm doing about the same as I was four years ago, but I have a better job (same wage though, unfortunately) and a better apartment, so yes. I'm doing better thankyouverymuch.

I am doing better - and was already working on my career four years ago.

However, that's not the point. The question is: is the average American doing better now than they were four years ago?

Now that question, the right question, is still ridiculous.

He'll only be in his mid fifties when he leaves office, assuming he wins a second term. I imagine he'd follow Clinton's lead with some kind of charitable foundation. It will be interesting to see what Michelle Obama does too.

EnviroDude: Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?

That's a tough one. I'm making more money and moved from an apartment to a house and my wife and I have a child now, but then again, four years ago I'd never been exposed to one of your posts.

An even more important question is whether the average and poor American is likely to do better under the fiscal policies put forward by Romney. He's vague about the details but the only way to meet his numbers is massive cuts to programs that benefit average and low income Americans.

The recovery has been pretty asymmetric with the lower two income quadrilles seeing much slower improvement. Their answer may indeed be "no, I'm not better off" but that doesn't mean that Romney's policies are going to make things better for them or even maintain their status quo.

If you're not better off than you were four years ago, Phil Herup, it's because you weren't bootstrappy enough.

The Koch brothers and the Waltons haven't let the Kenyan Socialist Muslin Usurper hold them back. Why did you? Does trolling and internet dentistry not pay anymore?

I'm an old Farker, and when I try to tell young people how the National Review used to be a highly respectable conservative newsmagazine, they laugh at me, and say shiat like "Sure, Granpa, sure!", and point their fingers at their heads and make circles in the air.

Careful you don't tell them the Republicans used to have a sane national platform that included sound fiscal policy, conservation of natural resources, and environmental regulation; they'll probably put you into a home.

This. We are all better off than we were 4 years ago. That the right refuses to admit that says a lot about the right, and politics in general.
