Being on the ballot does not mean shes going to win, unless its locally which I havent read, she would never win a statewide election because shes too damn crazy, although for sheer drama it would be fun.

2wolves: Las Vegas will not be happy.

Actually think of all the people who took the Saints when they opened in the 6:1 or 8:1 range and THEN the people who will take them at even 15:1 or 20:1. If Brees goes all Col. Kurtz they'll be raking in the cash.

I'm not even going to read this thread. After reading the article, I knew robsul82 would be in here ducking it out with everyone. And that's fine because the proof of the allegations isn't in yet. But, I assume that if the GM or the Saints admitted that the eavesdropping charges were true, rob would do right thing and admit it was an incredibly dishonest thing to do that stains the Saints' reputation.

Unfortunately, what will probably happen is that the GM will deny the eavesdropping, the NFL will probably corroborate the allegation through other sources, but because the case was not tried to a guilty verdict beyond a reasonable doubt in a criminal trial, rob will simply maintain that it should all be ignored.

Nothing less than a confession or an ironclad videotape catching the Saints' red handed eavesdropping will ever be enough to convince rob that his Saints could EVER do anything wrong.

Some of them arent being sarcastic like me though, some of them are serious. My aunt for one, she actually sent me a link to an onion article thinking it was true(one about government having secret internet monitoring something...) I swear to god, explaining to her that it was a satrical site gave me a farking headache, I finally was about to give up when her daughter told her that it was made up and just said "why would someone do something like that?" SaprolingToken: ***ESPN Breaking News***

Drew Brees has reportedly been sighted sacrificing minority babies in the St. Louis Cemetary to raise Cthulhu in a sadistic voodoo ritual, which entailed the drinking of the pancreatic fluids and the writing of the words "GO tO a Dark hELL" on the tomb of Marie Laveau in the tears of Brett Favre. Sean Payton has also apparently been impreganted by a Saints cheerleader (or at least a him/her on Bourbon Street), sources are unclear due to the presence of neon lights, hand grenades, and an abundance of purple/green/gold plastic accoutrements. Also, the crab people have apparently drained the life essence out of Rita Leblanc-Benson, resulting in her appearances as her grandfather, Tom Benson.

You rock.

Saddest comment on the state of the NFL is that, this allegation NOTWITHSTANDING, there's ample evidence that Loomis is a douchebag who disobeyed an express directive from his owner and the Commissioner. Why he's still employed and/or has any future in the NFL is a mystery.

No, rob, what you do is completely different. When, with reasonable people, there is sufficient evidence to make a common sense judgment call that something did or did not happen, they're willing to make the call. You, however, refuse to ever make a negative judgment about the Saints unless every single alternative theory, no matter how far-fetched or even impossible, is conclusively disproved beyond even an unreasonable doubt.

As you may have noticed, I said I think it is entirely appropriate for you to defend the Saints until more proof of the accusation is divulged. But unlike most of the rest of us adults who regularly make judgments on the best available proof, I believe you are unwilling to exercise normal judgment even if the allegation is corroborated by reliable sources. Your burden of proof is either guilty in a criminal trial or a confession of everything by the Saints. And since you know that neither of those circumstances will ever come to pass, you're free to never acknowledge the reality that most of us see.

A mystery? It's because he's one of the, if not the, best GM in the league. And before you get into the "well, if I did that at my office, I'd be fired!" routine, you can be easily replaced. Before you think that's an insult, same here.

Absolutely. I would hope, even among all the bullshiat, people know me for saying I'm wrong when I'm wrong. See Yankees/Red Sox 2004, well, all playoff sports threads in which my team loses, etc. If I'm wrong, I'll say so. There's no proof at the moment and I feel pretty confident that there won't be. Far be it from me to assign motives to people, but I figure this is piling on by a pissed off ex-employee. Hope the court case proves me right. That's all I can really say about that.

The problem, rob, is your version of "proof". I doubt you will accept anything short of you actually sitting down, trying out the eavesdropping system yourself during an NFL game, followed by a face-to-face meeting with the GM during which he confesses all of his sins to you.

Deflect all you want, but that's the impression of you that I've formed after reading so many of your defensive posts about the Saints. Maybe other people have a more favorable view of you being reasonable in exercising your judgment. But I think your whole schtick is always denying that there will ever be enough proof to make a common sense judgment. You're not waiting to make a judgment, you're avoiding it at any cost.

You're making wild assumptions based on nothing, both in the validity of this accusation and about me. I'll accept reasonable proof, if there's any to be found. My version of "proof?" A confession. Visual evidence that this equipment was present. This is not "unreasonable," far from it.

If every Saints defensive player is guilty of trying to take out opposing players' ACLs because they didn't all, I don't know, quit the team?, when GW told them to take out opposing players' ACLs, it actually wouldn't surprise me if somehow Loomis were accused and convicted of attempted murder somehow.
