That rip-off pissed my off almost as much as that time Games Workshop ripped-off Blizzard.

Hello! It's obvious that the Tyranids are completely based on the Zerg!

Wait a minute...

Anyone who likes Downton Abbey should check out the Titanic miniseries. The James Cameron movie made me not want to see it but it was really enjoyable.

As if Downton Abbey isn't just a ripoff of the original Upstairs Downstairs.

I thought Downton was an extended remake of Gosford Park.

/love 'em both

Nope, ITV.

I watched the new Upstairs Downstairs and it was pretty freaking dire. Not as bad, acting-wise, as the original, but pretty dire.

It's like that Marley dude completely farking up Clapton's "I Shot the Sheriff".

Just make another Black Adder series already.

2012-04-23 09:54:03 PM
Now the BBC can also cancel that ripoff of "Inspector Spacetime".

Next they'll come after Cougartown Abbey.

Dammit. Was enjoying it, although I am getting somewhat tired of Yet Another WWII drama from Britain (get over it already fer chrissakes - heh).

I'm still pissed at BBC for cancelling Inspector Lynley. Wankers.

/kidding, please keep that great Brit Shiat coming

There's always Inspector Spacetime.

Rowan Atkinson is too busy rolling around in his piles of money between making crappy movies.

Imagine a cross between Telly's Addicts and Noel's House Party. You've just imagined Upstairs Downstairs, a new game show devised and hosted by David Brent.

They've pretty much covered satirizing the past 500 years, when would you go for?

And remember, they're already rebooting Yes Minister.

It wasn't a reboot, it was a continuation of the original series, with some of the original characters returning to the same house.

Considering what I keep reading about the state of the British economy, I'm surprised the BBC can afford any shows at all.

FirstNationalBastard: weren't there rumors of one last series going into the Beatles era?

Yes, they thought the British music scene of the 1960's was ripe for satire. I'm not sure what part Adder would have played-but apparently the drummer was going to be "Bald" Rick.

If Rupert Murdoch has his way, there won't be a BBC in a couple of years; he's used his papers to campaign for cut after cut to the Beeb's budget. Hopefully, the hacking scandal has put and end to that as it's put an end to his takeover of BSkyB.

There was a scandal when Lady Agnes brought home a Klingon to ask for her hand in marriage.

Blackadder could be a minor functionary in MI5 who trades on his work in
national security to pull the birds.

Maybe some of the saving can be put toward making more than 3 episodes of 'Sherlock' or 'Lewis' per series.

The original U,D was surprisingly entertaining. My wife rented it and I was prepared for total puffy-sleeves crap. But it had slutty maids, abortions, suicide, class warfare via their leftist radical daughter, and a gay spy seducing their footman. Also, the wife totally goes down on... the Titanic! Pretty crazy shiat, actually.
