When aren't "Jewish groups" pissed about something? That looks more like the "Chinese stars" we used to make out of paper in grade school than the Star of David. I suppose that's offensive to the Chinamen.

$100 for a t-shirt, that's offensive.

If only somebody would pick up that skinny, fugly American Apparal model that keeps showing up in the side bar on Fark by the feet and beat everybody at Urban Outfitters to death with her.

The yellow $100 T-shirt, from Danish designer Wood Wood, "represents a new low" for Urban Outfitters said Anti-Defamation League Philadelphia director Barry Morrison.

How dare they not be thinking 24/7 about our obsession!!! When we say "never forget" we mean NOT EVEN FOR ONE SECOND WHILE DESIGNING A FARKING T-SHIRT

QFTA:

Ghettopoly

In 2003, Urban Outfitters angered the African-American community with a Monopoly knockoff called Ghettopoly, featuring properties like "Cheap Trick Avenue" and "Smitty's XXX Peep Show," and "Hustle" bonus cards like: "You got yo whole neighborhood addicted to crack. Collect $50." Black clergy called for a boycott. "There's no way that game could be taken in any way other than that this man had racist intent in marketing it," said the Rev. Glenn Wilson in Philadelphia. That man, creator David Chang, disagrees. "It draws on stereotypes not as a means to degrade, but as a medium to bring together in laughter," Chang says. "If we can't laugh at ourselves... we'll continue to live in blame and bitterness."

...except that it's "never again", which means including designing a farking t-shirt.

I just don't think teh Joos understand how ironic it is. This is hipster apparel, after all.

/$100 for a t-shirt is ironic. Right?

Dude, it's a shirt with a Star of David over the left breast. That's like making a red and black jacket and putting a four-armed black "pinwheel" on a white field on the arm and then trying to say, "Oh, we had no idea anyone would associate our pinwheel with the Nazis!" Or, mini football helmets with a lightning bolt on the side. There's no way anyone would assume those are for the Chargers!

"8. The "salacious" photo of a 15-year-old
In August, California model Hailey Clauson, 16, sued Urban Outfitters for $28 billion, saying they had used a "blatantly salacious" photo of her on a shirt without permission."

This one I'm confused about because the photog should have never took that photo in the first place. And I think he should have destroyed the negatives after there was a complaint about him sexualizing a 15 year old. Both UO and the guy is to blame for that one.

2012-04-23 08:02:07 PM
Hailey Clauson, sounds like a pickle.
A pickle wearing Navaho Panties and going to her Bat Mitzi.
I bet she's almost kosher now.
But the real deal here is that Urban Outfitters uses nefarious judgement on picking "edgy" entries to what will appeal to the American people.
For starters, Americans are easily bruised idiot assholes.
No if the Star of David Tee Shirt can in a half top, like a halter type, with burned out hems on the bottom so the underboobs showed, then...maybe, if would be offensive.
If the Navaho Flask, purported to be authentic and had a Kick a Poo Joy Juice caricature of a drunken Injun on it, Maaaaaaybe....
But as a product of Jewish, and Native and even African Americans, I have to say, the products are lame, and the people that buy them are lame .and the American people who complian are lame.
The lame in Spain calls mainly out your names.
And I do apologize to my close personal friend the Spanish designer, who will go unnamed.
And to those of you who are really lame.
Wouldn't want to offend the ADA folks.
/kidding. I bug the shiat out of my paraplegic pals,
//really, I do.
///I force them to go to therapy and go back to work. Yes they hate me for it - at first.
Then they get that first paycheck... and I make them but the first round.

True
All of it.

I must admit I had to think about what was wrong with that star on a shirt for a minute.

I was "working" at a thrift store one afternoon when one young woman was showing off the tattoo on her forearm. It turned out to be her deployed husband's military serial number. I had to interject "Really, you tattooed a serial number on your forearm? You, you really don't know your history, do you? I know you mean well but it's been done to bad ends already."

i have a yellow star of david tattooed on my left chest. does that mean i am "racist" or anti-jewish?

would love to hear opinions on this.
