I still left an unflattering comment about her promoting Dragon Age II because she had a character in it. I hate it when actors pimp shiat projects.

I don't get it. Sometimes I look at her and go "Damn, she's hot," and other times I see her and go "Eww, no." And it's not like her appearance changes from one set of photos to the other.

Why do people ask people to subscribe on YouTube?

Does their ad kickback % go up? I know people want more subscriptions "just because", but it's so universally begged for that it must be directly, rather than indirectly, related to how much they make in revenue.

It's her business. For future projects, she needs to be able to say "Look how many people I got to subscribe". Subscriptions are better than just views

Angles, lighting and makeup.

I've met her in person - she's really cute. The right lighting, right makeup can make her look really sexy. The wrong lighting and or makeup can do just the opposite. I get the impression that she kinda doesn't care, so you see her in "amateur" pictures, and with simple makeup instead of "glam it up" makeup.

Look at the professional, wet hair shot above - super sexy - compared to the shot of her on vacation, in the blue (unflattering) swimsuit.

I had never heard of Felicia Day. From trying to watch this vid my guess is that you need to have already developed a strong crush on her in order to watch a complete episode of her banal ramblings - i.e. you watch her and don't care what she is talking about.

Same, one is just a little more honest about their motives.

I find Felicia Day to be unreasonably hot. I could probably explain it in great detail (I tend to know why I like what I like) but that would probably make me seem like a creeper (I probably am)

With that said, I can't help but suspect that being around her must be extremely exhausting (and I don't mean that in a wink-wink, nudge-nudge sort of way). I wish I had the creative drive to self-realize a career as effectively as she has, but good lord... I have a bit of hero worship toward her and Wil for just how driven they are and how much success they've had thus far with their careers.

It'll take an act of god for me to break the shackles of corporate slavery enough that I can re-energize and even make an attempt at such self-fulfillment.

If you are a "pro" then it is "whoring", otherwise it's really just attention slutting.

Watch The Guild and Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. She's a good looking funny chick who is an authentic geek. Not hard to understand how she gains a following.

No, the opposite really. If you watch The Guild and know her character, her ramblings have a familiar style and are much more amusing than they might otherwise be.

Here's what's weird about her looks.

Some women, facing forward, have a seemingly cute nose, but when they turn to the side it's revealed to be a super-schnoz.

Felicia, from the front, looks like she might have a super-schnoz, but when she turns to the side, it's totally not. It's the strangest thing.

I completely agree. The more I watched The Guild, the better she looked. Especially as Codex. Then someone mentioned Amanda Plummer and ruined it all for me.

It's certainly a case of driving hard to succeed for sure.

Wil was working as a nobody for SGI before he really managed to start recapitalizing on his earlier career, and Felicia, AFAIK, basically had one or two bits in Wheadon series and somehow parlayed that into a career of essentially her own making.

Kudos.

/also she's super hot

It's her business. For future projects, she needs to be able to say "Look how many people I got to subscribe". Subscriptions are better than just views

Not to mention that a high number of subs will get you higher rankings and more visibility on YouTube, attracting more viewers. Further, a subscriber is more likely to view future videos since it is simply easier to do so (on the front page or sub box, rather than through search or the channel), further increasing the view count. And this increased view count directly translates to increased ad revenue and indirectly leads to more prominent placement on YouTube due to higher view counts, more comments, and more likes, which further increases view counts and draws in more people to subscribe.
From one professional YouTube personality, the best way to make money on a YouTube video is to piss half the people off and start flame wars in the comments. The increased number of comments and views will more than offset any Dislikes the video recieves. Note this requires a established audience to start and not be regular enough to drive people away.

Andrew!

And what's her Fark handle?

2012-04-24 10:54:05 AM
She is a lot skinnier in person. I was surprised at how much thinner she was when I met her at Comic Con.

I thought she would be a biatch because she had just finished meeting and greeting hundreds, if not thousands of fans, but she was so nice, took a picture with me and we chatted briefly about how terrible Jersey Shore is.

I love her so much.
