I wonder who the advertisers will side with, the 21-50 demographic, or the almost dead, old person demographic?

Raping choir boys is getting a lot harder these days, so I guess they have to channel their energy elsewhere.

We really don't need to boycott anyone as the picture is so indefensible-putting a nativity scene ornament in between the legs of a naked woman-that no one save the maliciously sick would even try to defend it.

Next thing you know, someone will say that Jesus came out of a woman's swollen vagina.

2012-04-23 01:48:39 PM
The good news is that Stewart lashed out at us in a serious moment-the e-mails that are pouring into Comedy Central are obviously getting to him. We'll see who is branded as "ignorant" when our campaign is done.

You have to spam to get your point across. They've already set up a filter to stop you. You've already lost.

I'm still not entirely clear how photoshopping a picture of a nativity scene into a picture of a women's spread legs is somehow more offensive than treating actual women as little more than breeding chattel.

Hear that, ladies? I case the last 2,000 years hadn't clued you in, hard-line catholics find you disgusting.

I hope he doesn't respond to this on his show. I'm sure they would love the publicity.

All Catholics should have to pass the rigorous purity tests the Church performed on suspected heretics and witches back during any of the many dark eras of the church. If you pass the test and still want to be a Catholic after that, then God be with you.

Upon reflection this kind of calls for a Photoshop contest followed by a whole lot of people sending their entries to the Catholic League...

Here's the Catholic League's original call to contact Kraft. It helpfully includes all the contact information you would need if you wanted to contact Kraft and tell them you appreciate that they are advertising on a certain television program.

Not to mention that every time the Catholic League puts out a press release or does an interview, the entire Vatican public relations department have to attend a special service dedicated to St Wuthefuc, patron saint of facepalming.

JerseyTim: The Catholic League Twitter feed is hilarious. It's so full of venom. At first, I wasn't sure it was real.

I like how they call Jon Stewart a misogynist (spelled incorrectly, of course). I'm not quite sure if that's irony, but if not, there's gotta be a word for that. What's a good word for "accusing someone else of being exactly what you are?"

I also like the tweet about how if Stewart had any guts, he'd debate (whoever the tweeter guy is?) in person. If Stewart had any guts at all, he'd come on TV with me & give me free publicity!!1! It's right up there with saying that anyone who tries to defend this picture is a bad person. Is the Catholic League a real thing or just one guy getting offended at almost naked ladies?

Here's the text:

According to the Tampa Bay Times, while performing in Florida on Saturday night, Jon Stewart "offered some serious messages, railing against cable TV news channels' 'outrage machine' after noting the Catholic League boycotted him for a joke placing a manger between a woman's legs."

Stewart then said, "I'm not going to censor myself to comfort your ignorance." The newspaper said this remark was made "in a rare moment of seriousness."

Catholic League president Bill Donohue picked up on what Stewart said:

Nice to know the Catholic League is on Jon Stewart's mind. Unfortunately for him, we're going to hang around for weeks, contacting his sponsors and religious leaders from all the major religions. We're sending them the "vagina manger" picture he is so proud of, asking everyone to pressure Comedy Central into getting Stewart to apologize.

We really don't need to boycott anyone as the picture is so indefensible-putting a nativity scene ornament in between the legs of a naked woman-that no one save the maliciously sick would even try to defend it.

I like how this guy thinks that Stewart merely acknowledging that someone's pissed is the same thing as being disturbed or agitated by it. Acknowledging that spider in my house isn't the same as freaking out over it. Shoe. Splat. Done.

The Catholic is just one guy, Bill Donohue. He's pretty damn angry all the time.

Not saying they would, but I'd love to see The Daily Show take up his offer and bring him on the show. They could ask him what he's so upset about and when he replies, say, "you mean this picture?" and keep displaying it. Take it down, let him continue, pop it back up. Over and over. Just keep interrupting him with the picture.

Stop it! You're making him think about sex while he's trying to be outraged! Anyway. I saw the original Daily Show segment and I don't remember thinking, "This is misogynistic towards women" or "This is using sex to sell your point." I just thought, "Some religious group is gonna be pissed about this somehow." I'm gonna try to find a clip. I figure we'll get some Catholic League defenders in here once this goes big green & I think the least they could do was watch the offending segment.... which was farkin funny, if I remember correctly.

Jon Stewart is a pompas little douchbag and I assure you I would punch him in the face if he ever oozed his way past me on the sidewalk.

But I do agree with him on this one. The "Religion of Rape" has no business telling him what is funny and what is not funny.

Since there isn't I'mma try to make his life as miserable as possible here and now.

This. The segment was tame. I had to think really hard to remember what exactly the image everyone seems to be up in a fuss about.

The funny part is, he says he wants to talk to Stewart in person, but he does not want that. He will really just wage his spam war on everyone around Stewart to get him to cave.

Because he knows in a head to head debate, Stewart will crush him like the small minded and he is. He is not Stewarts first victim. and he will not be his last.

and for those who don't know the intellectual might of JS, witness his glory.
