(Telegraph) Video Dean Potter walks a 130-foot slackline 6,000 feet above windy Chinese gorge--without safety net, harness, or BASE rig--and it's all captured on testicle-shrivelling video. Suck it, Super Bowl slackline dancer   (telegraph.co.uk) divider line 27

I have noticed a lot of college kids doing this over the last year. Seems like it would be fun but it looks really goofy.

They have one at my rock climbing gym, but I rarely see people use it. I doubt I could even stand on it.

He should wear a helmet. He could hurt himself if he fell.

I was wondering that, too. I like how they mention the number twice, in hopes that it'll sound more impressive to readers/viewers. But, really, if you're paying attention, it just underscores how little work they did on the "article." My guess is they looked it up on Google Earth after finding no success in locating the actual height above ground of the crossing.

After watching the video, I don't think my testicles would have shriveled in fear any less if it was actually only 3,000 feet above the canyon floor, or any more if it was 10,000 feet.

/granted, I hit maximum testicle shrinkage at around 50 feet, but still...

When the no-shirted "brah" beta sprayers in beanies aren't huddled around the slackline, you really should try it. Extremely challenging and fun. I bought one and have it set up in my yard. Plus, on camping trips it makes for a hilarious campfire activity.

That's some weird genes right there. Ultimately, you don't "learn" how to do that. There's something in your genetic makeup that compels you, and you practice until you feel somewhat comfortable doing so.

"Suck it, Super Bowl slackline dancer" I`m pretty sure they all do anyways.
