IIRC, neither of Rubio's parent's were born here. How is that better than Obama, who at least had one parent born here? Isn't that the argument? Obama's not a natural born citizen because both his parents weren't citizens?

true, but Rubio is one of them Latinos. Maybe RMoney just wants Rubio to mow the lawn and trim the hedges.

If he thinks this will win over Latinos, it's only more evidence that the GOP doesn't 'get' Latinos.

Romney's father was born in Mexico.

Between Romney and Rubio, we could be looking at the first Latino administration!

The majority of Latinos in the U.S. are of Messican descent. We Messicans aren't too crazy about conservative Cubanos, and vice versa.

Illegal Cubans are welcomed into the U.S. by the GOP with open arms; illegal Mexicans, not so much.

That was partly my thinking. I work with Latinos from all over south and central America and the Carribean. I don't get the sense they hate Cuba with anywhere near the passion and intensity of 'exiled" Cubans. Plus:

1) Rubio's played a little fast and loose with the details on his heritage
2) He supports an immigration policy more restrictive and harsh than what Arizona came up with

If Rubio's the pick, they'll be painting themselves into a corner with a broad brush (if you forgive the mixed metaphors).

Boy ain't that the truth.

I know it fell flat with my grandmother. And she lives in fear of Obama and Michelle and is quite liberal (ha ha) in throwing around the N word when speaking about them. But McCain's pick of Palin made Gram stay home on election day. Couldn't bring herself to vote for a ticket with Palin on it despite her intense hatred of the opposition.

She's not feeling too positive about Romney, either.

Actually, I saw the show...
It was hilarious...and you could see that he wasn't being serious.
The rest of the liberal panelists were cracking up.

Actually all the Sunday news shows were kind of surreal yesterday.
It was like all the sides, both liberal & conservative were all agreement.
Practical, common sense...no rhetoric or hyperbole.
The Libs were criticizing the Adminstration
The Right were criticizing their Primary and extremists.
I thought it was opposite day.

As one of the liberal panelists said on Fox News Sunday, "Wow, when all four of us agree, it must be a sign of the Apocalypse"

DOOO EEET!

Considering Krautie's track record I think we can safely take Rubio's name out of contention now.

The GOP has no idea that there is any difference between Cubans and Mexicans. Like they don't understand Sunni and Shia.

"Rubio's not eligible," Farah interjected. "You're going to lose 10 percent of the Republican vote because he's not a natural-born citizen. We've been through this with Obama now for four years. You want to open that can of worms again?"
