so it's not Yo Gabba Gabba....?

As much as I love the Aquabats, and am super happy that they're finally getting more widespread recongnition (including being mentioned on Fark), the show premiered almost two months ago.

It's more CNN's bad than subby's, I guess, but still...

Literally the best (and most interesting musically) ska band ever. And whatever they became after the ska craze wore off. I'll joins subby and bring the veal cutlet.

Wasn't there an Aquabats cartoon at some point or am I dreaming that? Either way, this looks like it would be cool. I was a huge fan of them in HS, then kinda got away from punk/ska, but still had a soft spot for some it and the Aquabats were part of that.

I am going to give that guy points for really going the distance with never giving up until his no-rate ska gimmick became profitable. Save Ferris stopped in the middle of playing a ska cover of an 80s song and then killed themselves after reading about it.

My 3 y.o. loves this show. Back when it premiered MONTHS AGO it took a few promos before I realized that it was actually THE Aquabats.

I don't care for the Aquabats.

They're everywhere, and unlike normal bands, which are usually bright, and clever, and fun to be around, these guys with their beady little eyes, and their sharp teeth...

I introduced my kids to The Fury of the Aquabats after seeing them in St. Louis in 1997.

They've been family favorites ever since - even though the kids are all over 18 now.

Yes, The Aggrolites are musically light-years beyond anything from the "third-wave" of ska.

Aquabats were.. meh to say the least. Goofy, but that's about it.

I believe this is one of the reasons we haven't had any new Homestar Runner material for a while.

I think what you probably saw was the pilot for this show, which was released on their website in like 2008 before finally being picked up a last year by The Hub, which didn't even exist when they first made it.

That shiat kicks all kinds of ass. My kids love it.

The Eagle Claw episode has the greatest guitar cutting contest ever put on film.

Weird. I was flipping through the channels earlier and saw this on and watched a couple minutes of it. Now I see it's a linked article on Fark. Anyway, it's terrible, but then again, most children's programming is terrible imo.

Cool. Always liked the Aquabats. First saw them on a video on MTV or VH1. That's right, they used to play things called "music videos". Those were strange times.

/what with the onions on the belts and all.

If you take it seriously, yeah, it is terrible. But it's a great mosh of 1960s Batman camp with the horrible costumes of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Go see a Dr. to get that rod up your ass removed and watch it again.

My four year old is OBSESSED with this show. We watched the Uberchaun episode four times today - no lie. We watched the Mysterious Egg episode twice. Manant is available on demand, and we watched that one three times.

During the Mysterious Egg episode, Eaglebones says to Jimmy the Robot, "Dude, that was harsh," or something to that effect after Jimmy blows up the weird monster thing. She came up to me afterwards and said, "Mommy, can I say that word?"
"What word, baby?"
*whispers* "Dude..."
"Sure you can!"
"Can I call Daddy dude when he comes home?"
"I think that would be hilarious - do it!"

A couple hours later, Joey (daddy/husband) came home. She gave him hugs and kisses, but forgot what she wanted to do. I tried to remind her. "Weren't you supposed to say something to Daddy when he came home?"
"Was I?"
"Yeah, you were supposed to call him something?"
"...I forget!"
"It starts with the letter 'd'?"
*thinks for a moment* "Doofus?"

At least my four year old knows letter sounds....

They were actually opening for another 90s favorite, Reel Big Fish.
A hot girl behind me was groping me through the whole show. I told my girlfriend about it as we left the venue.

Good times.

My two year olds love this show. They both do a happy dance during the opening credits. Glad to see the 'Bats finally got a show off the ground, if memory serves this was the 5th time they've tried to get one launched.

CSB Time!
I've had the oppertunity to see these guys perform twice.
First time was in high school and they were nothing but awesome. The show came to a stop though because one of the villains they fought on stage started having an asthma attack. I vividly remember the Commander Bat saying, "Does anyone have an inhaler? Someone's having an asthma attack. *audience laughs* No seriously, there's somebody having an asthma attack". Luckily, some kid was nice enough to chuck one onto the stage. Second time around, I took one of my brothers who was 12 at the time and he loved it, even though he had no idea what he was about to see. During the entire show,I was either smiling or laughing to the point of tears.
