no shiat. the media has been virulently anti-obama since the summer of 2009. study after study shows this.

whether directly - repeating GOP talking points verbatim and unchallenged, no matter how blatantly false - or indirectly - covering market drops but not gains (watch, they'll be all over today's three-digit drop in the dow, though they were silent on three-digit gains last week).

the media hasn't been truly liberal since the 1970s. most republicans admit this privately, but they still complain about the "liberal media" as a crutch to explain why their bullshiat is called out every once in a blue moon.

the story isn't the quantity of coverage; it's the tone. the media overwhelmingly covers romney in a positive light and obama in a negative light. that has nothing to do with the primary. and obama has received negative coverage pretty much from the summer of 2009 on. this isn't new. it's a reflexive stance to shield them from being called "liberal."

Google the following "Roger Ailes' career" and then come back and explain to the class why you think a man whose only broadcast news experience prior to heading Fox news was producing propaganda pieces for the 70's equivalent of the Hunt brothers and trying to convince local news stations to run them as straight news, would even know what fair and balanced loked like if he ever accidentally ran into it.

I meant to say that Obama and Clinton were getting more coverage than McCain at this point.

It seems that one should EXPECT the challengers to get more coverage than the incumbant at this stage. Look at Kerry compared to GW at the same point for example.

It seems absurd to try to charicterize this as an example of media bias.
