Ottawa's playing like they're the last Canadian team in this. Don't they know Boston hasn't been eliminated yet?

TSN sucks compared to HNIC

You want hockey coverage to suck?!

Screw you

"Screw you"?

Anyway, TSN goes a pretty good job, I think.

ontariolightning: ytterbium: Frozen_Puck: ytterbium: Something I've noticed: games out of Canada have clearer/sharper cameras. Better camera operators too.

Canada appreciates hockey more and probably puts more into it than we do. :-)

Definitely, love these Canadian games!

CBC keeps doing the playoffs even if no canadian teams are left!

Yeah, that's awesome. I was actually referring to regular season games too, would always watch the Canadian feed over the American one if both were available. I prefer CBC though and am glad they cover the playoffs the whole way through.

killershark: netweavr: Can someone explain the Senators mascot/logo to me? Are they just trying to incorporate all of Roman culture or is there a method to the madness?

I never fully understood it. So they are the capital of Canada and they're called Senators, which makes sense. DC had the Washington Senators. But then the whole gladiator thing is where I get confused. I mean, if they're going for the Roman democracy thing, shouldn't their mascot be a guy in a toga?

Interesting. The game clock's font has changed.

The Senators is a stupid, stupid, stupid mascot. It's awful. You may as well be rooting for the Ottawa CEOs, or the Ottawa Tax Attorneys, etc. It's awful.

They should have stuck with the original logo idea:

[upload.wikimedia.org image 150x100]

It's not even about the logo. They should stop being the Senators and start being something good. You could keep the logo and become the Ottawa Gladiators - that would be way cooler.

One problem- this is the 2nd coming of the Senators. The originals were one of the founding NHL franchises.

Ott looks really good on transition offense

I'm just happy I'm not an idiot for failing to understand Ottawa's logo/mascot.

I think the Sens logo should be that old guy from History of the World saying "I didn't know Gloria was sick"

Frozen_Puck: FastJeff: Cole said they do it every game, but it's the first time I remember seeing it. Guess I should watch more Sens games.

I can't speak for their regular season games, but they did it in games 3 and 4 of this series too. Now I gotta listen to see if they do it every period. I imagine they do.

Basically started on the Message boards for the playoffs. Fans showing what he means to the city

Killer Cars: I called Gonchar scoring the first goal. You didn't see me do it, but I did. That means you all owe me $10.

The check is in the mail.

Killer Cars - Send me $10. I had Chris Neil.

It's pretty freakin' awesome! I'm a Habs fan, but this is awesome of Sens fans and I'm liking it!

I keep meaning to try that stuff, but the rye content scares off the missus, and I feel like an alcoholic buying a bottle just for me.

It's good. Never had the Rye, just the Bourbon. For only a dollar more than Jack, it's worth it. It's almost identical to Buffalo Trace if you've ever had that.

9beers: Getting chippy.

You're a quick one.

Refs need to take control. Can't believe Richards didn't get one there

Hey Refs, if you're not going to call flagrant fouls, this game is going to get out of hand, and it's your fault.

Stay mad, Rangers fan.

Careful, if the NHL hears you complaining, you'll get a fine.

ontariolightning: CBC keeps doing the playoffs even if no canadian teams are left!

That sent me off on a tangent - looking to see when the last all-Canadian SCF occurred. It turns out to be 1989, Calgary Flames defeating the Habs.

Anderson's Pooper: Killer Cars - Send me $10. I had Chris Neil.

The officials changed the goal-scorer due to a conspiracy against me. I swear.

HeathenHealer: Refs need to take control. Can't believe Richards didn't get one there

I'm loving the blatant homerism on my stream. The announcers were going berserk saying that the Richards slash (which should have been a penalty, granted) was 100% unprovoked and Neil just accidentally ran into him because he was losing an edge. There was a brief call for 10 minute match penalty/attempt to injure before they regained what passes for their sanity.

Pens fan.

You're as correct as I expect you to be.

We shouldn't be surprised to see Richards over 25 minutes? Isn't that rather odd for a forward?

hockey!

May be a long time before we see another. Hell, last Canadian team to win was Habs in 93. I'd love to see another take the Cup back home. They had their chances, 3 years in a row in fact with 2 going to Game 7. Ottawa's looking good, but they've got a hell of a task if they're going to be that next team.

At least Prust answered the call when a Senator came calling.

lulz

Listening to the game on the radio, the announcer is going nuts for Neil throwing bombs. Love the enthusiasm.

Prust bit off more than he could chew here.

Now we can get down to some hockey. Good fight.

Good fight! Holy hell!

Neil slams Prust back into the boards during the fight and takes a moment to crowd please even, haha.

2012-04-23 07:43:59 PM
Now that was a good fight. I give it to Neil in a 31-29 split decision.

Prust, NYR's official punching bag

Refs let them go for a while, good fight

1-0 after 17 min of play...so THIS is the playoff hockey I keep hearing about.
