This Seattle tourist looked at the price to go to the top and said, "lol no" and then spent that $19 on beer.

When I was staying at the Grand Hyatt, I noticed that there was a Starbucks in the hotel and one on every block going down to the market. It blew my mind that a company could successfully run so many locations so close together.

I think subby's talking only about the locations inside the Space Needle.

Philz coffee is far superior to any shiat from seattle. Also the view from Twin Peaks or Mt. Tam is a thousand times better than the space needle

If I'm not mistaken there are a fews spots near downtown where you can see a starbucks from another starbucks.

I heard it was a dollar, in honor of the anniversary. The kids and I went down there - we had just seen Dar Williams' performance at a nearby record store - and tickets were all sold out.

I've been once in 22 years of living here and that's because my mom wanted to go. She'd have said no if I told her the price so I didn't. She's my mom. Anyway, while I was up there I looked through the telescopes and I'll be damned if I couldn't see my house from there, which was actually sort of cool.

/not worth what they charge, but hey, my mom never asks for anything so I did it.

I would have paid the dollar. $19 was too steep.

Instead, I paid $1 for the Red Hook Brewery tour. That was worth it.

I was living in Ballard at the time the Needle was going up. Family made several trips to see the building progress until the World's Fair opened. Was damn cool. And exciting. The 60's were a great time for the word "space."
