It's not that you're a millionaire many times over, Willard. It's that you made most of that money by f*cking over the working class, that makes you a dick, and unfit to be the leader of the free world.

You barely even pretend to care about the middle class, and you sure as hell don't give a thought for the poor.

2012-04-23 04:46:09 AM
Mitt is going to be the cause of desks around the world rising up against us because they are sick and tired of being smacked with heads so much

America, where you get to apologize for your success.

El Pachuco: ANN ROMNEY
What do the simple folk do
To help them escape when they're blue?
The shepherd who is ailing, the milkmaid who is glum
The cobbler who is wailing from nailing his thumb
When they're beset and besieged
The folk not noblessly obliged
However do they manage to shed their weary lot?
Oh, what do simple folk do we do not?

MITT ROMNEY
I have been informed by those who know them well
They find relief in quite a clever way
When they're sorely pressed, they whistle for a spell
And whistling seems to brighten up their day
And that's what simple folk do
So they say

ANN
They whistle?

MITT
So they say

You are a farking genius. Pulling a Camelot ref and the most apropos one I could imagine..

SevenizGud: America, where you get to apologize for your success.

No apology necessary, but no over generalizations allowed either. And the party that calls a kid who went to college on a scholarship worked his ass off to become editor of the Harvard law review, and then turned down extremely lucrative offers at white-shoe Law firms in order to follow his own path in and try to improve a blighted US city an "Elitist" Does NOT get to then trumpet how the son of a politically powerful multi-millionaire who was handed the reigns of an investment company right after getting his Harvard MBA is a self-made "common man"

SevenizGud: America, where you get to apologize for your success destroying livelihoods for corporate greed.

it's more correct, now

SevenizGud: America, where you get to apologize for your success.

Being born a multimillionaire and parlaying that into more millions of dollars is "success" now? While deliberately running companies into the ground for profit, putting thousands of people out of work?

No, he should apologize for being a bad person, in a cult, with terrible plans, a horrible record, and a shiatty sense(even for a rich guy) of what life is like for most of America who don't employ a private rectum wiper.

To apologize for success, he would have to actually, like, do something that just having shiat piles of money can't do for itself automatically.

Actually, George Romney was a decent guy. Rich people frequently have inferior spawn for some reason; see: Bush, G.W.

Yes.

Sorry you couldn't parlay your dads $35 into $50.

2012-04-23 05:48:45 AM
Why doesn't he just drop it, and tell the truth? Say: "Hey - let's cut the crap. I am nothing like you people. I am richer, smarter, luckier, and more powerful than any of you will ever be, and I am far more qualified than any of you dumbasses to run things, so vote for me, ya dumb shiats!"
I'd respect that. And I'll bet even money that a lot of voting Republicans would too.

A non sentient interest bearing bank account could have done that. And Romney did that. Also non sentient. Apparently.

Much like yourself.

But he ISN'T smarter. (and being smart isn't a selling point when you're talking about the Republican base anyway). He got where he is because of his daddy. Like W.

Case in point: Romney's disastrous speech in Detroit. Want to know why it sucked so bad? Because Romney wrote it himself.

The success part doesn't bother me even a little. He's rich. Good for him. Most politicians are wealthy, and I'm OK with that. It's the lying part that burns my a$$.

Mitt constantly claims to be one of the common folk, and it's a lie large enough to be an insult in its own right. I, for one, grow weary of Mitt's constant patronizing. It's condescending as hell, and incredibly demeaning to the middle class.

Mitt has absolutely no idea as to the sacrifices we middle class have to make. When Mitt claims to be one of us it's like he's trying to steal our suffering too. He didn't pay his dues, so he don't get to sing the blues. Romney needs to stop lying through his expensively capped, ivory white teeth, fire his campaign manager. and STFU.

George Carlin once remarked that he kept his sanity by fostering a detached view of American lunacy. To him, the great freakshow of American life was entertainment to be consumed; not be taken seriously. He truly felt that we're doomed as a country and as a species.

With that in mind, just imagine the entertainment value of working class Americans voting into the presidency a man who:

1. Made a fortune destroying our manufacturing base as well as middle class people's lives.

2. Belongs to a whackjob cult that was started by a known conman.

3. Intends to decimate social safety nets in the midst of a bad recession, while making our current tax system even more favorable to the oligarchy.

The hilarity alone is worth the price of admission! A vote for Romney is a vote for entertainment! Riots, fuel shortages, increased poverty, violence. We're talking Emmy award winning television here folks.

if mitt is the repugnan party, i am voting for obama...

2012-04-23 06:34:34 AM

Gyrfalcon: Jim_Callahan: Romney seems to think that literally every single person in the US making fun of him means that he needs to try to relate directly to the average person. I'm pretty sure that has cause and effect exactly backward, his attempts to "relate" are the reason we make fun of him-- if he'd man up and just be basically honest we'd stop mocking him. Albeit maybe it's better for him if we think he's funny than if he's actually running on his policies...

Something like that. I'm getting almost embarrassed for him. It's like "Mitt, it's not your money per se everyone has trouble with. Hell, lots of wealthy people are respected in America: Bill Gates, Warren Buffett--even the Kennedys. It's your constant attempts to pretend you understand poverty when everyone knows you don't, and your awkward attempts to fit in in places you clearly feel out of place that we have issues with. You're like George Bush 'clearing brush' on his Crawford Ranch to look all folksy and manly--it doesn't work. Do something you're comfortable with, with people you actually like, then you might not wedge your foot so far into your mouth."

Of course, that's where he laughs about putting people out of work, so maybe that's not going to help any.

AND, this. I support a couple of private equity firms, and every single one of these guys are just like Romney. They aren't thinking about how they are going to build businesses up and make them successful. They are thinking about how they can extract as much profit out of the business for themselves. Now, to be fair, if the business is a huge success along the way, then they are all for it. But it's not the first thing in their mind. And they revel in the kind of black humor about their work, which is pretty funny, I will admit. But it's the kind of humor that won't play well in areas hit by the recession..

It's basic strip-mining. It does have a certain validity in that one can readily understand the motives of the players and that provides for a certain type of fundamental stability. It would be better to control some of the more obvious negative impact of "strip-mining" in that it can be very destructive. However, this involves doing the equivalent of understanding that the people who live downstream from the strip mine will wind up with a poisoned water supply, and weighing their benefit against the profits of the owners of the strip-mine.

Awareness of the situation is the first barrier.

I'll give you two out of three. The Mitter would punt on fiscal policy, let the Fed continue to print fake money. And were he in the Oval Office, I guarantee Obamacare would not be repealed, just "fixed" -- listen closely to GOP talking points and remember Bush and Rove gave us Medicare Part D.

Besides, the Supreme Court is gonna strike Obamacare down -- at least the individual mandate -- so that Obama has the best of all world's to win a 2nd term -- say he tried to provide free health care but was thwarted, needs another terms to, yes, "fix" it.

In sum Romney does not have a chance in hell in November.

You libtards are delusional if you think the Mittster doesn't understand poor people. I'll have you know he rented "The Grapes of Wrath" once, and there was a 5 minute stretch where he wasn't even laughing.

Mitt, it's not that people don't want to vote for the rich guy. Hell, almost all presidents have been rich - it's not like Joe Schmuckatelly from down at the hardware store can tell the boss to fark off for 18 months while he tries to get a new job.

But this delusion that you aren't rich, that you are, in fact, middle class at most? People will vote for the rich guy, they'll vote for a flip flopper, but ain't nobody going to vote for someone who is that farking insane.

You got money Mitt. Actually, you have a lot of it. And if you keep denying that, then it's gonna be ugly when you finally hit bottom and have no choice but to accept that you're wealthy.

That's unfair to Idi. Idi really was a product of the lower classes in a colonial society. Hell, he basically took power as a Lieutenant, which made him the highest ranking officer in Colonial Uganda. Sure he killed a couple hundred thousand of his own people, but comparing him to Mittens is unfair...Idi pulled himself up by his bootstraps to become dictator. He only gutted Uganda's middle class out of Africa-first racism, not pure profit.

If you're a Randian, Mittens is classified as a looter. Do you want a looter running America? It's not rich vs. poor. It's America vs. looters. Don't like Obama? Fine. Don't vote for him. But a vote for Mittens is a vote for looters.
