Rick Astley had two hits. Disqualified!

Vanilla Ice!

Or does it count as half a hit because John Deacon came up with the bass line?

They had this hit about two years before that one.

BretMavrik: Totally forgot about Oran Juice Jones, I liked that song.

A few more for consideration...

Timex Social Club - Rumors (The Rain reminded me of this one)
Newcleus - Jam On It
Baltimora - Tarzan Boy
Aldo Nova - Fantasy
David and David - Welcome to the Boomtown
Dream Academy - Life in a Northern Town
Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Relax
Timbuk 3 - The Future's So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades
Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me

Why, yes, I am a product of the 80s.

The English Major: Romeo Void--Never Say Never

I would have gone with "A Girl in Trouble".

I loved that album - just downloaded a new copy the other day. I still have The Flying Lizards album and I have a picture disk of Welcome to the Pleasure Dome.

I also used to listen to the Hoodoo Gurus album Stoneage Romeo over and over.

Who remembers "Together Forever" anyway?

It's like asking someone to name a Billy Ocean song other than "Get out of my dreams, get into my car". Sure some people will be able to pull "Caribbean Queen" from the depths of their subconscious, but the majority of people will just be stumped.

It still charted at #1. Sorry, can't give this one up, can't let it down, can't run around it, or hurt it.

Actually, Billy Ocean had a few hits;

Caribbean Queen
Suddenly
Loverboy
Get Out Of My Dreams (Into My Car)

I remember them since I had to play them working CHR radio back then...(shudder)

Tyrone Slothrop: WoV also did a killer version of Ring of Fire. Not only that, but it was used in the porn film "Night Dreams".

I did not know that. I actually used to own that one on VHS. It was one of the few I could get the GF to watch with me.

doczoidberg: Marcy

about a year ago i made a Marcy Playground station on pandora for some mid 90s goodness. i had no idea they were still making music and had been making some really good music since Sex and Candy. Every since adding that station they have been one of my top 10 most frequently listened to bands.

What about "Bomfunk MC's" with "Freestyler"?

From wiki it appears that they had 3 albums but I only ever heard that one single.. over and over and over!

Ghostbusters - Carl?
Escape - Rupert?

Jacks was a one-hit-wonder in the U.S., but had several hits in Canada.
I have the 45 of Seasons...the song on the flip side is Put The Bone In. Seriously.

Ray Parker Jr. had a few other hits besides Ghostbusters.

Rupert Holmes had a follow-up to Escape that was even more annoying: Him (Him, HIM, what's she gonna do about him?).

White Town - Your Woman & Baltimora - Tarzan Boy

what was that band who sang about a gypsy queen and Vaseline?
about seeing the show?
was that a hit then?
and the song about 2 paths to go on and a long run?
those were strong songs.

The Knack was a very underrated band. They were great musicians, tight as Hell, and had tons of hooky, catchy tunes. Too bad Capitol Records oversaturated the media & soured people on them. They could've easily been huge.

Geggy Tah - Whoever you are

True. It didn't take long for people to get sick of them. I think the "Nuke The Knack" movement started even before "My Sharona" fell off the charts.

Of course I always get sick of the overplayed one hit wonder so I end up with an alternative favorite.

4 Non Blondes Spaceman

The Knack Frustrated
