A cheeky crow tries to hitch a ride on an eagle mid-flight in Kyeonggi-do, South Korea. Photographer Hyeongchol Kim caught the smaller bird saving some energy by swooping in on the eagle and perching on its back.

Yeah, I'm going to have to dispute the validity of this claim.

Yeah, number 2 is tragic.

And I don't think those dolphins are actually flying. Dolphins sometimes jump out of the water, though.

Number 3 begs for a "I'm a shaaark" caption.

#22: "The lamb community frowns on your shenanigans"

#32 is a "come at me Bro" candidate.

This cute steenbok was just hours old and was so unafraid of the leopard it even tried to suckle milk from the predator. The leopard toyed with the steenbok calf for 45 minutes, until eventually killing it.

That went downhill really really fast.

Agreed.

The correct caption would be "A crow tells an eagle to get the fark out of his territory".

Number 2, while completely logical and predictable, is nonetheless depressing. I kind of imagine the cat thinking to itself "well this is easy...."

Yeah it's definitely not doing it for fun, but to drive the eagle out of it's territory. I think this must happen a lot as even I've gotten some photos of it happening, and I don't spend that much time photo-ing eagles.

Archimedes' Principal: /Don't know if they're brave or just stupid.

It's called mobbing and it's pretty much the only way smaller birds ever get a moment's peace from larger ones. If you notice, sparrows will also do it.

Basically a raptor is a slow, bomber kind of flyer while smaller birds, especially the crow family, are agile, fighter types. If you look you can what's basically a WWII dogfight style of combat where the large, slow flyer will simply try to power through the attacks from smaller, more agile ones that try to get up and come in from above for a damaging strike to the back and head. The goal isn't to kill the raptor, which might not even be possible, but just to drive it away from the area so they can forage and relax in peace for a time.

It's basically what humans would do if there was a bear near their campsite in Alaska, only without noisemakers like pistols and bells.
