Okay, The Avengers is the original dysfunctional super team, Fantastic Four notwithstanding. Total personality clashes across the board, members ragequitting, arguments settled by fights. The only thing that really keeps the team together is the realization that they really *are* more effective as a group and that there are some threats too big for them to handle solo. The FF was bound together by fate and circumstance; the Avengers by necessity.

I'm not a comics guy, and usually not a comic book movie guy (The Dark Knight was a rare exception). I am actually waiting with baited breath for this movie.

And the fight in that clip is nothing compared to Hank and Janet's frequent domestic abuse/makeup sex storylines.

That's actually not too far off the mark. There's very few members of the Avengers that don't have some kind of massive ego complex or other emotional instability. It really is like a modern-day MMO guild, including all the guild drama.

At least we don't know what's going to happen in TDKR. Anyone could write up a treatment for the Avengers and probably be pretty much right.

Didn't click the link but read the comments. I swear they've released the entire movie in clips over the last few months. The sad part is there will be people who've read the scripts, watched every clip, and viewed every leaked photo and will complain the movie had no surprises.

/ has only watched the previews to both

The Avengers comes across as this comic book circle jerk. There are too many main characters for Hollywood to put together in a functional story in one movie IMO.

I say they should go big or go home. Throw Spiderman, Wolverine, and a couple others in the Avengers movie.

Not necessarily. I have a feeling this one is going to surprise people. They might even kill Batman. Sounds crazy but there's always the reboot.

I'm so glad this clip made it to youtube. I was trying to show this to my son yesterday and the only clip I could find was a tiny one on some rando site. I'm going to get stoned, get a big bag of pop-corn, and catch this in 3-D (suck it haters). It's been a while since I've been to a theater for a movie and I'm going to be there opening night for this one.

Nope, gotta disagree.

Nolan is a massive story structure geek. He had always envisioned a trilogy as the three acts of a overall story. Looking at the structure, Batman Begins: Is about how Bruce becomes batman- but in the beginning: Henri Ducard says this: But if you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal, and if they can't stop you, then you become something else entirely...A legend, Mr. Wayne Bruce becomes a symbol as Batman-hoping to get fellow Gothamites to fight against the corruption that is n Gotham. And he becomes a hero figure.

The Dark Knight-is Batman worse nightmare come to life. The people who are inspired by him are no better than the criminals that he fights. On the brink of driving out the mob, the Chaotic Joker appears and takes everything from him. His hero status, his friends and most of all his love interest. The themes that are explored in the film was that Bruce didn't want to be Batman all of his life, that he wanted to step away. With the loss of Harvey Dent, Bruce seems to be doomed to be Batman forever. Alone with no allies.

But if Bruce Wayne dies at the end of The Dark Knight Rises- then that goes against everything about story structure. A tragedy- the middle arc is usually a great victory. In The Dark Knight (Double meaning that it's the worse night in Gotham), Bruce has lost everything- so it's not a success, Joker had proven that chaos can ruin a good man and have the city turn against Batman as a "freak".

This is a hero's triumph journey. The name itself "The Dark Knight Rises" means the end of the horrible time. My belief is that Bruce Wayne lives, gets the Girl (Catwoman)....and someone else takes the role of Batman, under his guidance. (more than likely Joseph Gordon-Levitt)

The Dark Knight Rises is not in 3D- nor will it be shown in 3D. Nolan saw no reason to make it 3D when the first two weren't. (He loves IMAX though)

Why would you ever headbutt a guy in an iron helmet?

I think this fight was probably a fanservice replay of the Oh-So-Awesome smack down Thor gave Tony in New Orleans after Civil War.

I know one guy who bought three copies of that issue, one to read and two to tear apart and frame.

Why were the robot and the strong girl fighting?
I've seen children's cartoons that looked more realistic.
