Intellectual capacity left the room long ago. It's a side effect of moral bankruptcy.

Ted Nugent, REO Speedwagon, and Styx? What the hell kind of concert is that for soldiers? Aren't most soliders in their late teens to early 20s? Most of them weren't even alive the last time any of those bands had a hit song.

I guess the army is just booking whatever is cheap and on the county fair circuit.

Stupid politicization of our military leadership in action. Our military is not supposed to be political one way or the other.

Except that tiny detail about the sitting President being the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.

Seriously, I'm in my forties and I don't want to listen to that cr@p. I get tired of listening to songs that are as old or older than I am. Do you hear me "Classic Rock" stations? I'm sick of you. Get some young folks on the air waves!

And the implication of violence. Threatening violence against the President of the United States of America goes a twiddly bit beyond "politics".

And you could argue that opposing war is a form of defending and attempting to protect the troops. I don't know if that at all motivated the Dixie Chicks, but that is definitely a motivator for me.

Ted you can spout all the chicken shiat fake-hardass stuff you want, but you fark up REO, I will hunt you down. not with a bow. not with my sideburns, which are crazier than yours, but with pork chop and biscuit cutter (my left and right fist) wrapped in american flag bandanas and i will beat the implications of freedom of speech into you.

He most definitely has the right to say what he wants. And the military concert organizers have the right to not pay him to do so.
Why do you hate our troops?

It would be like me, the legendary Billy Idol, being invited to play for the Royal Marines and then being turned down because I said "The Queen is a Coont and im honestly considering driving a VBIED into buckingham palace." Kinda understandable to not let me play after saying I want to kill your leader.

Farrakhan said seemingly equal threats to "leaders" the same week. Does anyone in their right mind think Ted Nugent is going to go postal on the President? Really?? Also, it seems the Secret Service has bigger internal fish to fry.

He, like everyone else in the United States, does have a First Amendment right to say what he wants to say, within reason.

The First Amendment does not cover making implicit or explicit threats against the President of the United States.

He better be exercising his Fifth and Sixth Amendment rights as he is finding out that the Secret Service does not have a sense of humor.

Bush shrugged it off when the Dixie Chicks discussed his assassination. Obama has obviously managed to to corrupt even the most obviously apolitical section of government.

The Secret Service must investigate all threats made against the President. Even making the threat is a federal crime.
