I for one am shocked that Dennis Leary could be so heartless.

2012-04-21 12:15:23 PM
Not soon enough.

Not funny either. I don't mean not funny as in tasteless. I still have no idea what Dick Clark actually "did". I just mean not funny. And I generally like Dennis Leary.

OK.

With one "N".

I'm like that with Seacrest and P-Diddy, or whatever he calls himself now.

I like dark humor as much as the next person who likes dark humor, but that fell somewhere between Carrot Top and Sinbad on the humor scale.

I'm not offended on a moral level, I'm offended on a comedic level.

Yeah. I doubt I'd be offended by anything, but that just wasn't funny.

Perhaps I could buy votes, turn this from Green to Red. Farkers should be cheap to buy off, based on the comments in some of these threads

It was meh; but way too meh.

Dennis Leary hasn't been funny since he stole Bill Hicks' material, and this tweet proves it.

Mark Ratner: Dennis Leary hasn't been funny since he stole Bill Hicks' material, and this tweet proves it.

Besides the bit where he pranced around with the cigarette, I don't see where he stole anything from Bill Hicks and Leary is pretty funny otherwise.

It's already been said, but damn Yahoo, submitter and everyone else apparently.

Denis Leary

From what other comedians said at the time, it was quite a bit more than just the cigarette.

Besides that, they had entirely different acts. Bill Hicks was just pissed off at everything, not that there's anything wrong with that or that he was wrong. Denis Leary was pissed off but at other things and there was a joke behind it.

They were friends, and Leary supposedly lifted his material almost word for word. That ended the friendship and other comedians in their circle back then agree.

An argument can be made that Leary did more with the material, but the bottom line is, he did steal.

Come on, you guys didn't think the last line was funny? "I wanna see Hologram Tupac tour with Hologram Biggie and then both get shot by the actual Suge Knight." This got a smile out of me. Sure it sounds a little like a Family Guy bit, but it would be the one humorous bit they have every episode.

It's Denis. He is named after St. Denis who, when beheaded by pagan priests on Montmartre in Paris, picked up his head and walked for 8 miles while preaching a sermon.

Now that's what you call stand-up.

I wonder if suicide was contemplated by any member of that cover band before, after or during that set. It wouldn't surprise me.

"Syrup voiced lizard people" made me laugh.

That was actually reasonably funny. And since when does anybody care about Dick Clark?

"Pauly Shore" is on the depression scale, not the humor scale.

For shame, subby. I'd expected it to be Dennis Miller (never funny) not Denis Leary (occasionally funny).

Below Paulie Shore on the humor level = South of the South Pole.

IMHO

Considering the state of the music industry, I imagine that they moved on and received disturbingly lucrative record contracts.
