If you build it, they won't come.

Does it come complete with obnoxious Sox fans?

Mark Ratner: Does it come complete with obnoxious Sox fans?

I was going to make some joke about Red Sox fans being fatter than Yankees fans, but then I realized that wasn't true.

My favorite moment in "Field of Dreams" is when Shoeless Joe Jackson approaches Kevin Costner, and asks "Is this Heaven?", and Costner replies, "No, it's Iowa."

And then Jackson has such a disappointed look on his face.

/kidding...I love you Iowa!

I like when he talks about Ty Cobb
"none of us could stand the son of a biatch when he was alive so we told him to stick it"(Ray Liotta laugh here)

How long until the Red Sox sue to have it torn down for trademark violations, or the local authorities, butthurt about something, smack the father and son for violating zoning ordinances and make them tear it down?

And people wonder why we can't have nice things...

Man...all that work and they can only play wiffle ball due to the size limitations?

I'm torn between the coolness factor and the disappointment that you can't play real baseball there.

/yeah, I'd love to have my own baseball field...

When the Reds moved into Riverfront in '70 a man in Union, KY acquired as many pieces of Crosley Field to replicate it behind his house. Last I heard it's still there.

Also there is a Crosley Field replica in Blue Ash that's still being used, as well as a Fenway replica in Miamitown and a Shea Stadium replica in Norwood.

Can you make a 1/3 scale Fenway Park fan? Do IQ's go that low?

I don't know but according to the video in the linked article that was posted in 2010 when the field was approaching its 2nd birthday, it must be 3 to 4 years old.

Shoeless Joe would never want to play in a replica of that dump. (Wrigley, you too, you made for 19th century dwarfs with x-ray vision to look through pillars dump.)

It looks more like a Fenway Park built by the residents of Rock Ridge but it's cool. If he made the Fenway seats 1/3rd the size, the seats would be the size of thimbles.

In other amateur baseball news, the Mariners are gifting Philip Humber with a perfect game heading to the bottom of the ninth.
