Wow, this thread is up early.

I have to work during the Barceona vs. Madrid game. So sad.

I am watching the Mainz v Wolfsburg replay from last night and ESPN UK went to commercial after a corner... A farking commercial at 30 min! Unbelievable.

Thank you for not calling it the BPL. ggmu

So if ManU win the league at the Etihad stadium will they be presented with the trophy there and then?

I can only think of one place worse to do that.

Also its time to mock QPR. How did all those premier league quality players do for you? Are you nice and safe for the next season?

We're getting to the end of the season, and this article from a few weeks ago sums up my thoughts exactly.

8 April 2012 - The chase for the Champions League dollars is breeding mediocrity
"While Chelsea fans may dream of defeating Europe's premier team, Ron Gourlay, Chelsea's chief executive, has already admitted he would rather the club finish fourth in the Premier League. Why? So Chelsea can play in the Champions League again next season. Let me get that straight: Gourlay's club are in the quarter-finals of the competition right now and yet all he can think about is reaching the qualifying stage of the same competition next season."

I guess they should have come up with a five or six year plan for staying in the PL rather than just reaching it.

/The Four Year Plan was an excellent documentary about when billionaires buy a football club.

Nope, they get it at home. So they would celebrate at the Etihad, I'm sure, but they don't physically get the trophy until the go back to Old Trafford.

GET IT ON!

Should be a good one, the Chelsea-Arsenal game.

Chelsea look like they are resting their stars for the Champions League match. RDM really wants to go for it at the Nou Camp.

2012-04-21 07:58:38 AM
This will be a tough game for Arsenal today. Chelsea looks like a different team without AVB coaching them and they're going to be terribly dangerous. Arsenal need to control the midfield to win, and that's going to be a huge challenge without Arteta.

At the moment, the Guuers are losing that midfield battle.

2012-04-21 08:00:08 AM
It looks like RDM played a pretty good strategy with his bench: they seem to have a message that if they play well here, they might play their way into the Barca game. Chelsea seem to have an extra pep in their step.

Oxlay-Chamberlain taking hints from the Ashley Young school of swimming.

Ooh nice chance for RvP, great free kick from Walcott.

2012-04-21 08:08:15 AM
Come on draw!

2012-04-21 08:15:33 AM
Come on, Gunners, show some heart today

2012-04-21 08:18:01 AM
Bad challenge, Rosicky. You deserved that

do this, Gunners

I imagine RM-Barca later will be more of the same... so not worth tuning in, right?

/Both B squads vs each other would still probably be better than most domestic leagues

post and crossbar putting in stellar defensive shifts yet again :(

Where was the marking on Koscielny? Chelsea fell asleep there, a problem with working with a new back 4.

2012-04-21 08:41:13 AM
This game is much less entertaining than the 5-3 thriller earlier in the year. Good result for spurs so far though.

Gourlay doesn't think they can turtle at the Nou Camp for 90 minutes as well (and against Real / Bayern), plus until the Liverpool rule the winners weren't guaranteed a berth for next season. They're also struggling at the Emirates this second, so those fears aren't unfounded.

House of Pain at the Emirates? Old school drinking song.

High tension, no goals. But both teams need this game desperately.

Well, if you have Fox Soccer you'll get one of the 10 AM games and the late game, so Newcastle-Stoke, and QPR-Spurs. But if you hate ESPN, you'll miss el Clasico.

Morning all. Couple of things:

1) fing awesome news of the day is I'll be at the Yotes game tonight. Fingers crossed we break our playoff streak.

2). Just picked up Fifa street 12. Anybody else pick this up. I'm kinda disappointed. I knew they were improving the graphics to make it more like the standard Fifa games, but they also made the controls more intense and the physics (for lack of a better word) more real. When I want to play more realistic soccer, I'll play FIFA. But street was awesome for easy play and being able to dive power head in an areal crosses off the side wall.

It's sad that hooking up my laptop to the TV will provide better video than the actual Tv. Crappy ass comcast.

To be fair, Chelsea had it's eye on other things and Arsenal is just trying to make it to the end without somebody dying out there.

I think Arsenal missed Arteta dearly, there were huge stretches where there was no one in the center of midfield. Chelsea basically put a whole new team out there.
