Liverpool did. Kenny wanted to stick with Carroll.

I drank way too much alcohol last night to be walking up steps right now. Simply shot him a text to see if he was watching and apparently he was not

tom servo bit me: Here's a fun question - how'd everyone come to their allegiances?

First Champions League match I attended was Sparta Prague - Ajax. Moved back, and realized the city is split in two. Sparta was the only club playing in Europe at the time.

/Waiting for Bony Wilfried to move to Chelsea in the summer, then I might pick them up.

Anyone care to explain to me how the hell there's FIVE MINUTES of added time?!? Ridiculous.

WHAT A GAME

Well this changes things. Good for the blue half, well deserved draw.

So the path to the title is clear: Win out, win the title.

farking defense shiat the bed, sat back and gave the match up. Rafael you farking little coont. Cost us both of the last Everton goals.

So farking pissed right now.

Gotta hand it to Everton, they busted their asses for this scoreline. Lesser teams have crumbled under that pressure at Old Trafford.

Bolton
Norwich
Blackpool
Newcastle

Man City
Man Utd
Liverpool
Arsenal
Spurs
Chelsea
Stoke
QPR

Why Stoke and QPR?

The rest make sense

Game of the season. Lots of cracking goals. But FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Credit to Everton.

5 minutes because of goals and subs. You know, like every game.

I reckon City will score 10 today.

2012-04-22 09:32:03 AM
That was fun. Happy for Everton right now. Moyes deserved a match like this, just wish they could have gotten the win. Good to see that the Toffees can actually play two good halves of football.

Here's hoping Liverpool and City win.

I guess at QPR because of proximity to Fulham and perceived sense of entitlement and Stoke because of, ahem, style.

I see Wolves rolling over today, so there's no point in cheering for them.

Cheap, dirty teams. QPR has JOey Barton. QPR also has Mark Hughes and Bobby Zamora who didn't leave under the most graceful conditions. QPR is also a local rival.

I think Wolves should start eleven defenders and literally never leave their own penalty box. Just be total dickheads about it. Why not? You're relegated anyway.

Two ways.

1. Concede an early goal and it goes downhill from there.
2. Hold out manfully for 70 minutes and then concede two.

Wolves getting anything today would be a very surprising result. They win or go down.

If I wasnt on my iPad this weekend I would have predicted QPR and Everton to get a point, honest I would...

So how many minutes do you think would be appropriate for a half with six goals and four subs?

2012-04-22 09:42:17 AM

tom servo bit me: Could you please remind me how this works? DNQ defending champs enter at. . .the last qualifying knock-out? And what impact does that have on the fourth-place finisher (hypothetically assuming that it's an English winner)?

Defending champions enter at the group stage.

a) If the titleholder comes from an association entitled to four places in the
UEFA Champions League and qualifies for the UEFA Europa League
through its domestic competitions, the lowest-ranked club of the association's UEFA Champions League representatives is automatically transferred to the UEFA Europa League (into the latest possible round where there is a vacancy). In this case, the number of places to which the
titleholder's association is entitled in the UEFA Champions League and
the UEFA Europa League does not change.

b) If the titleholder comes from an association entitled to four places in the
UEFA Champions League and does not qualify for the UEFA Champions
League or UEFA Europa League through its domestic competitions, the
lowest-ranked club of the association's UEFA Champions League
representatives is automatically transferred to the UEFA Europa League
(into the latest possible round where there is a vacancy). In this case, the
association of the titleholder is entitled to one additional place in the
UEFA Europa League.

3. Maybe 4. Subs didn't take that long and one of the subs was on the back of one of the goals.

Added time works to a formula/guidelines. I think it is one minute per goal and 30s per sub. Only guidelines though. Ref decides.

There are four minutes added on to your average 1 or 2 goals, 4 or 5 subs games. All the damn time.

CL is worth it, Europa a double edged sword. I'd almost rather not have Europe at al rather than be in the Europa.

or the mayans have something to do with this season some how,
they are getting blamed for everything this year.

I did say almost. It can have a negative impact on teams with a small squad, meaning that league performance suffers. See Stoke, Fulham etc.

If we had a larger squad and/or plenty of kids in need of experience I'd be more positive.

Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Spearing, Henderson, Maxi, Kuyt, Carroll, Suarez.
Subs: Doni, Coates, Downing, Carragher, Bellamy, Shelvey, Kelly.

No Stevie? Uh oh. Glad to see Maxi and Kuyt, though it's looking like this might be both of their final hurrahs.

It's the 6-8PM EDT replay on Fox Soccer. Don't know if that helps.

Not me, playing indoor at that time. Will likely miss the last third of Liverpool's match due to an outdoor game.

I think everyone on the red half of Merseyside has to be looking over at the blue half and say "damn good work, guys. Very well done. Impressive."

Now, Liverpool do one better than Everton and WIN, DAMNIT!
