star_topology: expobill: barça looks like they are getting tired of winning

Pep Guardiola is so classy, he threw Maurinho a bone.

Xavi must be injured or barça is just in a slump now.

tom servo bit me: ADubs86: Well those four clubs have the most supporters on Fark, so it's no surprise that people don't comment when thier teams are playing.

The hockey thread last night was pretty boring too. Here's a fun question - how'd everyone come to their allegiances?

I'll be quick...

1) Thierry Henry
2) (Usually) attractive style of play
3) A farking cannon in the crest!

Or maybe, this might just be heresy, but Barcalona are not as good as the sum of the parts.

Are the Arsenel syndrome as its known.

i was a casual epl and Chelsea supporter just for the uefa games.
until 2006 when i watch every blues match possible.

At the risk of stating the obvious, it's very difficult to win four titles in a row.

ZoSo_the_Crowe: >El Clasico not even mentioned in headline

What kind of uncultured farktard wrote the headline?

I wrote the headline, you insensitive fark!

/They did have a fairly wide-open thread this week.
//Seriously, the headline has something about getting drunk in it. Who did you THINK it was?
///Wait, that doesn't necessarily narrow it down

Championship update with one game left (two games in West Ham's case)

1. Reading (89)
2. Southampton (85)
3. West Ham (80)
4. Blackpool (74)
5. Birmingham (73) (gd +25)
6. Cardiff (72) (gd +12)
7. Middlesbrough (70) (gd +2)

Blackpool please.

Portsmouth, Coventry and Doncaster have been relegated. Quite a few former Premier League clubs have dropped into the third tier at one stage or another. It would make an interesting study. Or not.

I liked Blackpool's style. Would like to see them come back up.

Best chant from last season:
Blackpool supporters: There's only 1 Charlie Adam

ManI Supporters: That's why you're going down.

Welp, looks like Chelsea have given up on 4th. They got some much needed practice on their parallel parking but putting all your eggs in that basket is risky to say the least.

Talking of giving up on 4th...does anyone even bother to laugh at Spuds anymore? They should be hitting terminal velocity soon.....

Newcastle have got to be faves for 4th. Hell, unless someone steps up to fill Artetas (not so fast Aaron, sit the fark down) size 4 1/2's, 3rd could be on for em with a result at City.

Real have defo wrapped it up. This could be the game changer. Pep looks like he might not sign and mentally, Real can stop being scared lil biatchez in clasico's from now on.

When I left the US, I moved to Dortmund and lived there for seven years.

And apparently the only one besides you that didn't drink himself into a stupor last night. Tough game for you today, are you rooting for both teams to lose?

Sir Cumference the Flatulent: When I left the US, I moved to Dortmund and lived there for seven years.

Badass - inasmuch as I follow Bundesliga (which is to say "extremely little") Borussia Dortmund are my German club of choice, on account of wearing Bruins colors. I actually got home from junior high one day and flipped on ESPN2 to see them celebrating the Champions League final in 1997. Of course, I had no idea what was going on, but I was excited regardless.

I'm awake, although I'm watching F1. I'll check in now and again.

Everton to win, surprisingly. But I'll take the surprise meteor from the sky.

I'm awake, kinda. Long day yesterday helping a friend with a backyard project, then was up later than I should have been watching UFC.

Actually, I normally watch as many games as I can, but I had to leave my house 20 minutes after the end of yesterday's early game.

Regarding my allegiance, a few years ago a friend wanted to start watching EPL and wanted me to watch, too. Since it's hard to pick up a league without having a rooting interest, he picked Chelsea. After researching teams, I settled on Arsenal. Not a very good story, I'm afraid.

Lovely ball. Everton the team pushing the pace right now, but United have a lot of scoring threats at any moment.

WAYNE ROONEY equalizes, Nani curls in a pinpoint cross, and Wayne is right on top of it.

2012-04-22 08:12:59 AM
You have to say that this has been a pretty even game, and a goal apiece is a fair result so far.

2012-04-22 08:13:35 AM
Who is Ferguson yelling at? Sideline official?

2012-04-22 08:18:47 AM
Foul? Maybe. Yellow card? No damn way.

2012-04-22 08:22:13 AM
Squeaky bum time.

/Brilliant header by Jelavic.
//One decent cross by United in 45 minutes.

I'll be in Los Angeles for the Manc Derby. Might be able to watch it in my hotel?

Just found out I'll be there for the 20th anniversary of the Rodney King beating. Nice.

I saw Bill Hicks do his material on that topic on my first day at Newcastle University.

When I was growing up, football was a grubbier, nastier thing. Living between Liverpool and Manchester, a lot of kids opted out of the culture of violence - the 'Firms'. That's why I occasionally have a snap at those who endorse or romanticise that culture, because I remember what it was like. Sky deserve a lot of opprobrium for things they have done, but there has been a positive/cleansing side as well.

Anyhow, arriving in Newcastle autumn 1992 meant Keegan in full swing. You could taste the atmosphere in the air. So, HWTL.

My grandfather was a shareholder for Middlesbrough. Got him tickets to the ''66 World Cup Final, but I've told that story before.

Guaranteed. It's the late game on ESPN 2. Definitely on in your hotel.

DANNY WELBECK curls in a beauty. United go 1 up on Everton and may be one step closer to 20.

Well in Danny!! Come on United!!

With the league so close, any dropped points from United or CIty means the other gets the title, you have to feel.

Danny Welbeck may have just given United the title.

2012-04-22 08:51:50 AM
Everton have now done this in two straight matches: have a great first half, yet fall off in the second. I'd like to see them equalize, but that's looking quite doubtful at the moment.

2012-04-22 08:55:34 AM
Fark'n a I'm a mess this morning and it doesn't look like the draw I wanted its going to happen.

Holy shiat Fellani.

What a fantastic give-and-go with Welbeck!!! Wow.

2012-04-22 09:09:32 AM
Welp, barring a miracle win from Wolves later, next Monday we're going to have a title match.

And me stuck at work and can't watch. 'Tis just my luck.

NIKICA JELAVIC scores!
We just got a real match!!!!!
4-3

2012-04-22 09:12:46 AM
