The worst victims of the Madden curse? Video gamers who want a decent game and not an annual $60 roster update. Fark you, EA, for your exclusivity contract and for the shiatty development team that is Tiburon.

It's been a steady downhill march since Tecmo Super Bowl. I do not see this trend changing any time soon.

I'm just glad that the Arian Nation is out of the running.

I stopped getting them a few years back, they just weren't as fun anymore. Possibly my overall lack of gaming skill finally catching up to me, who knows.
What I do know, though, is that the 2006 version(McNabb) was the last one I played a lot, but the 2004 (Vick) was my favorite. I played "years and years" into Frachise Mode. You could create your own coaches, take over as many teams as you wanted, it was fantastic.

Not this crap again...

The 2010 version was good and son was the 2012 version. 2011 slid backwards, and I have hope for 2013.

006: Eagles' quarterback Donovan McNabb: McNabb suffered a sports hernia in the first game of the season and tore his ACL in Week 11 against the Titans. It was the third time in five years that McNabb was lost for the season with six or more games remaining. Verdict: Not cursed

I don't see how missing nearly half of a season isn't "cursed".

Is it because McNabb is expected to do that?

Tecmo Super Bowl 3 was the last football video game I truly enjoyed.

I was voting for Patrick Willis all the way

//Granted I was voting for Fitz too but I think he's immune since he survived his last trip to the cover

How the hell can this article claim McNabb wasn't cursed after suffering a hernia in the season opener, followed by a season-ending torn ACL? That makes no sense! O_o

Thank FSM that Victor Cruz was not long in the running.

Well the thing is, he's got the Madden Curse, the Chunky Soup Curse, and the Sports Illustrated Cover Curse all fighting over which one takes credit... it's currently tied up in Supernatural Court right now.

There are still people in this world who don't understand that "The Madden Curse" is just sports guy talk for "regression towards the mean"?

Running backs in particular are likely to regress if they carry the kind of load that makes them cover bait.

Football Outsiders "Curse of 370" , another statistical observation named as if it was mysticism

I think it was Shaun Alexander who said something like "I would rather have the cover and the injury than just the injury."

On that contract extension with a big signing bonus was also nice.
