The shadow figure things make me wish that they had used Screen Beans for the people doing business instead of what they used.

Surprisingly well written, tho.

At her bar, Kenworthy enforces a two-drink maximum, both to keep belligerence to a minimum and to ward off situations in which clients are angered by being "unable to get it up."

Great article.

surprisingly missing is hiring Velvet Jones to educate your sex workers

I was actually talking about something like this the other day. Would a fetish place be against the law/considered an adult business if there was no nudity and the clients weren't allowed to expose or touch themselves? Like where people can feed fat women, touch/look/lick feet, etc. Not that I would start or go to a business like that, I was just curious.

That's an interesting article. It definitely lays it out there. A madame basically operates a hotel, a bar, and a HR department for the whores. The whores do the business.

I don't see how the reaction would have been different if you read it correctly

Yes, it's a very woody word. Brothels.

Unfortunately legalizing prostitution does not reduce sexual exploitation, nor does it make the lives of hookers better. What has happened in places that have legalized it is cheap exploited immigrant labor takes over the market and a lot more underage labor enters through this illegal market.

This is neither good for the domestic sex worker nor the foreign slaves.

An Australian study showed STD-infection rates to be four times higher among nurses than prostitutes.
For the general population: 10 times higher than prostitutes.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA
so whores are clean and your SO is a disease ridden slut

It's good for local productivity though. Instead of getting hammered every Friday and Saturday night in the hopes that I meet that "special someone", instead I'll just go hit the brothel for a half hour and then go back home and get back to work.

I don't know, you tell me, how often is your SO ridden? Is it more or less than your mother?

Oh and by the way, your mom gives better head than your SO.

And then how will the bars stay in business? Did you think about that? Those poor bar owners?

/Or will she need a stiff drink when you're done?

1. Prices at brothels and from the working girls themselves vary. Under Nevada law, negotation of price can only happen in a private room. But it ain't cheap. 100 USD is assumed to be "minimum wage" for a standard 30 minutes of a sex act around here.

2. It wasn't exactly immigrant labor "taking all the jorbs" in the brothels either. Last time I visited a brothel, 80% of the working girls were white, middle-class, well educated women. There were a few ethnic girls around the bar. (Latina, Asian, etc.) Of course they could call up anyone you wanted, provided you pay for them.

3. Nevada law requires that a working girl have a work card issued by the local police department, which is only valid in a legal, recognized brothel. In other words, no streetwalking. And from the people I've talked to, any girl who isn't yet a legal working girl takes her cues from the industry anyway. On what to charge, on where to go, and what clients to select. It's her choice, ultimately.

Too funny, in Toronto, this will never happen and if it does the rest of Canada will be laughing because it will become the #1 attraction of the city.
