No. They're about The Bulls getting another ring.

Lando Lincoln: No. They're about The Bulls getting another ring.

Yeah, but can't it be both? I mean it isn't the playoffs until LeBron calls it quits

you mean, how quickly will h choke this year?

2012-04-20 10:21:45 AM
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

/Kobe is back next game

I honestly didn't know the NBA had playoffs. I figured the season just ended when everybody got bored and started going outside again.

2012-04-20 12:58:51 PM
This season is about blending MMA with NBA.

I was pretty sure a hockey game was going to break out during last night's Bulls Heat game. If centers and power forwards are going to start throwing blocks and start flinging players around like Scola does, we might as well put a cage around the court and throw the ball away.

2012-04-20 01:00:05 PM
Kinda feel sorry for Lebron. He seems to have the emotional age of a 12 year old.

2012-04-20 01:03:06 PM
Of course they are. And they won't stop until he has a title, which is why I want him to get one.

Then the idiots in the media can start telling us that Durant and Rose aren't that good because they don't have titles and they can start trying to convince them to leave their teams.

2012-04-20 01:06:27 PM
Does he have an ESPN special to tell us this?

2012-04-20 01:07:01 PM
That has been the truth since five seconds after he uttered "south beach". And, it will continue to be the main story about the NBA playoffs until he retires or wins a title.

It will be interesting to see what happens if he doesn't win this year. The orgasmic told ya so-ness will render most internet forums unusable.

---------------

I just want to see Thunder vs Heat go 7 games. It will be glorious.

Dont forget he waited til the finals to do that last season.

We might as well rename the NBA Playoffs to the "Whether or not LeBron can 'come up big' and 'win it in the clutch' forcefully becomes the dominant narrative and overshadows every damn aspect and other worthwhile storyline Season".

I don't like the guy either, but I'm not sure if people outside of Dallas have fully embraced Dirk Nowitzki, one of the nicer and most loyal guys in the NBA, winning his first title, for what that is on its own accord outside of a "heh, good job Dirk sticking it to LeBron" context.

Lots of good storyline headed into the playoffs. Best time of year coming up!

Why does Dwight Howard get a pass while everyone keeps dumping on LeBron? Yeah LeBron's an ass, but Howard's behavior this season has been much worse than The Decision. I'd like to see Howard become the NBA's new punching bag - guy has crapped on Orlando fans, management, teammates, and his coach all season and gotten away with it.

At least LeBron learned from his PR disaster and has put the focus back on playing basketball this year. I really wouldn't mind if The Heat won this year...though I don't think they will because somehow their bench is worse than last year.

I think Howard might be legitimately retarded. Someone should make him take the Wonderlic.

As a Chicago Bulls fan, not to me. But f*ck if I care what everyone else is talking about. When Derrick Rose is showing off his first ring next year while LeBron has none, I'll be paying attention to that.

I'm assuming because up to this point, his "profile" to the mainstream was one of all smiles and Superman capes, it will take awhile for many to process the "coach-killing, team-sinking, ego-driven ass face" part.

2012-04-20 01:43:46 PM
It's only "just about LeBron" when your shiat blog doesn't put forth any journalistic creativity or effort. There's a lot to like about this year's playoffs.

I think it is because Dwight plays for Stan Van Gundy and everyone hates him.

Dwight is a total douche.

2012-04-20 01:49:23 PM
He has all the talent in the world, but he wanted his path to be easy... The thing is, for true greatness, the path is supposed to be hard. By trying to circumvent the hard part, he is actually doing himself a disfavor because it lulls him into not feeling the pressure, and thusly, he's not hitting on all cylinders (when it matters most).

bulldg4life: I just want to see Thunder vs Heat go 7 games. It will be glorious.

I'm praying this will not happen. I will be conflicted to no end. On one hand, I find it next to impossible to root for the Heat. They're from Florida and Wade, Bosh and Lebron seem to be the basketball equivalent of the three Shadow Lords from "Ultima 5".

The Thunder on the other hand, used to be from somewhere else and were known by a different name. When this was the case, I rooted for them as long as I can remember watching basketball. Then, due to crony arrangements between David Stern and Clay Bennett, an apathetic Howard Schulz and a city that just really wanted to wait a few more years before paying for a new basketball arena, they were strong-armed out of town. I couldn't watch the NBA for a long while.

So, whom to root for or against? I can't decide. Maybe Fark will help.

yelmrog: So, whom to root for or against? I can't decide. Maybe Fark will help.

I like to call these Earth's Crust Series. Instead of rooting for one team or the other, you root for the Earth's crust to split open and swallow the arena whole. With both teams meeting an intimely demise, the league is forced to award losing teams from the previous round a chance to win the finals.

It isnt a perfect system but I think it works.

2012-04-20 01:57:25 PM
As much as I dislike Lebron, he is going to win a championship at some point, and quite possibly multiple times. Very talented douches are still very talented. Kyle Bush is a douche, Roethlisberger is a douche, Sidney Crosby is a douche, Jon Jones is a douche. They're also champions. So, as fun as it is celebrating his failure, he's eventually going to get that ring.

2012-04-20 01:58:54 PM
It'd be hilarious if spurs and heat end up in the finals , with Lebron losing to them again.

If the heat don't win it all this year, I expect them to get rid of Wade or blow up the team somehow.

2012-04-20 02:05:53 PM
Just like last year, the big thing that everyone forgets (because they focus on records) is that the playoffs are officiated in a much different fashion. The big stars are going to get far more calls and that can only benefit the Heat. If you look at some of the early series, the FT diff. is interesting in home games.

Mind you, it's not an isolated ONLY THESE HEAT, but is continual going back through the years, they just benefit more now. There was a decent article last year on the one 76ers game that made no sense because Philly kept attacking the basket but the fouls were lopsided. I only mention this because people are going to discount the Heat for the lack of bench but forget that really the stars matter much more in the playoff setting.

I still do want them to choke because I mean come on, it will always be funny. Don't have a team I'm really pulling for this year though "storywise" it would be great to see Duncan get 1 last ring in a superboring Finals and retire a champ in the same season that he was marked as DNP-old

I think it's primarily because his team doesn't have the expectation of contending for a championship. For the Heat, I think it would be more of a relief for them to win a championship. I don't know if they'd even enjoy it that much.

The Heat can suck it. Let's go NYC!!!!

I think I lost the last few morsels of respect for LeBron last night when he shoved the 5' 8" 3rd string point guard for the Bulls. So some little guy gets up in your grill. Big deal. You're supposed to be one of the premiere players in the league...act like it.

And this article is proof that a good percentage of writers don't want west coast games. Because if you think this season is all about LeBron, you're missing out on Kevin Durant.

Celtics!

Because I know everyone here is a big Simmons fan :)

I can totally see how people could've gained respect for someone if they had let some little pipsqueak stand in their face and scream at him.

He didn't take the easy path. The easy path would have been signing with Chicago. He'd have easily won the title last year if he had. That Bulls team with LeBron instead of Boozer would be the best team since the 72 win Jordan Bulls. And I'm not even sure that team was as good.

Indeed. They're a damn playoff-caliber team without Derrick Rose...who only won the MVP last year.

Chippy stuff last night. Maybe they'll let 'em go and we'll get Turn Back the Clock Night for the entire eventual series.

Frankly, I'm not seeing the advantage to taking the No. 1 seed if the Celtics are the 4. I'd way rather play Indiana if I'm either team than the Celtics.

/first round really doesn't matter

Be careful what you wish for. Pacers gave the Bulls more than they wanted last year, and are MUCH better this year. They aren't an easy out.

Speaking of Turn Back the Clock Night, yeah, I remember that Bulls-Pacers series. Tough and physical, it was like those early 90s series with the Knicks.

Lebron and his shiatty beard can diaf. I submitted a link about Dwight and it wasn't accepted... Surprised the story didn't make it at all.
