So, he saw his mom in the porn flicks and only realized it was her when he reached the happy ending?

How did the boy learn to be self-hating?

I know, he learned it from YOU.

"A new study shows that four out of five 16-year-old boys and girls regularly view pornography (posed by model)"

THAT ONE KID IS A LIAR!

That's the funniest article I've read this year.

If you can't outsmart your 11yr old with a program that blocks porn on their computer, then maybe you shouldn't have kids.

An additional protection is to monitor the kid's internet use personally. Parents do that all the time. Maybe not at 17, but at 11? Sure.

2012-04-19 10:56:21 PM
I have a very hard time believing this article is sincere. I mean, look at this:

Of course, some people will scoff at the idea that children who watch porn should be treated like victims of addiction. Surely they should be punished for their wickedness.

I mean - this is laugh out loud stuff. This has to be a parody.

Violent video games and internet porn in one convenient article.

Kids personalities never changed while going through puberty before online porn was widely available.

Having hit puberty a little before we had internet porn, I have to say, "this."

Kids get sullen. they get depressed. taking away porn will probably make it worse.

adamgreeney: Kids get sullen. they get depressed. taking away porn will probably make it worse.

And based on the mom's reaction to the porn on the computer, she probably isn't making it any easier on the kid. Wouldn't be surprised at all if it was one of those households were sex, puberty, etc were verboten topics and the kid has no one he can talk to.

I wonder why my personality changed when I was 12, long before Internet porn was invented.

I wish I'd been molested so I could sue somebody.

biatch! Your kid has mental problems... Porn didn't do this to him, he was a ticking time bomb waiting for something to set him off...

Why? The part of your brain that can create a dependency on internet porn only kicks in when you're 18?

Oh gods thats.. She actually has convinced herself that porn, rather than his awful family and farking puberty, had this effect. There is absolutely nothing other than her own opinion to support this utter nonsense.

Spoiled little brat. Back in my day, before I found my dad's stash of Playboys I had to make do with National Geographic.

Not really, but it is not the utter destruction this retard says. Also her bad parenting is to blame for that too, who doesnt have a pretty good idea what their 11 year old does on a computer?

How about you sit down with your kid and explain that sexual urges and porn are normal, healthy things for many people? How about you tell them that porn is fantasy, not real life and is in no way akin to normal, everyday sex and relationships? How about you tell him that you love him and that he shouldn't hate himself for something completely normal? How about you be a good parent? Oh, of course not. It's the goddamn porn's fault.

I remember hearing something around the time of the Jamie Bulger case that referenced back to the nutter who was obsessed with Rambo and went on a killing spree.

Some people just have addictive personalities, they can and will latch on to anything. You are just as likely to find someone obsessed with Rambo, or Chuckie (I forget the movies name) as you are Blue Peter 'makes' (a children's program that had a make your own toys section). But I don't hear anyone calling for a ban on Blue Peter.

So I'm guessing we're all in agreement that the mother is reactionary/stupid and largely unfit to parent?

Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that the absolute beginning root cause of all of this is that the wife stopped putting out when she had her snowflake?

damn kids should just go back to whacking it over the bra advertisements in sears catalogs like I had to.

gaspode: Not really, but it is not the utter destruction this retard says. Also her bad parenting is to blame for that too, who doesnt have a pretty good idea what their 11 year old does on a computer?

its not utter destruction unless, you know, he's one of those who is genuinely addicted to this.

As for having a pretty good idea what your 11 year old is up to on his laptop? Unless your computer expertise is rather extensive, i'd say about 90% of parents have no clue what's really going on. At the very least.

2012-04-20 03:24:08 AM
Tatsuma: ... do you guys really think its healthy to give an 11 year old access to hardcore pornography? really?

no... just that most 11 year olds wouldn't go off the deep end into a binge of hardcore bondage, torture, and pedo-toon porn like this one did.

Discovering porn is almost a rite of passage, and certainly a normal thing that 99% of us can relate to, and usually it happened at a young age similar to this kid. It probably didn't help that he had his mother of all people confronting him with this in the backdrop of a overly religious family and school life... who knows what other contributing factors there may have been as well...

I was shocked that my child started to grow up and become interested in sex especially because I didn't prepare them for it in any way.

I'm completely incapable of dealing with this in any rational fashion so I have turned my son into a problem to be fixed and the rest of the world is my enemy.

I'm going to do my best to make my kid into the same kind of repressed denialist that I am so they are equally incapable of dealing with modern society because success to me is having a child that is bereft of their own thoughts and just parrots back what I want to hear.

Damn, I'm a great parent and made of the purest goodness. Why must I raise kids in a vile, evil, world that fills them with corruption that causes me be to be ashamed and disappointed in their exhibitions of humanity? I mean, I know I'M perfect so I can't be any part of the problem.

When I was young, it was classmates passing around some sex-type novel to read or getting copies of Penthouse/Playboy. Then when you became an adult, going to your video store and walking into the segregated "Adult Videos" section to rent a tape and doing the walk of shame to rent one. Thank you, DARPA, for making porn so much easier to get now.

It's not pedophilic cartoons, you ignorant twat.

It's Anime, a style of cartoon drawing originating in Japan.

You guys are lucky! I had the adult section of the Fantagraphic's comic catalog! All I had were the covers of the books!

I recall reading something a while back written by some nut about how she wished she has aborted her son because she caught him watching porn, which naturally meant that she had raised an unrepentant rapist. I remember, after my initial shock, this overwhelming sense of sadness for the kid (teenager?). I figured if the mother's obvious mental illness wasn't hereditary the guy still had zero chance because of how badly she messed him up. Does anyone else remember that?

When my mom discovered my stash, she wasn't happy, but she was fairly reasonable about it. Gave me the talk about how when a man and woman are in love et cetera and that's why porn is bad, and after that I was a hell of a lot more careful. I imagine that is how it goes for a lot of guys.

Course, I was a few years older than 11.
