It makes sense. The same audience that is going to see the Avengers is probably not seeing Miley. So it makes sense to open it on the day when families will split off on the movies because fathers will take their sons to see the Avengers and mothers will take their daughters to see Miley.

Miley is not attractive at all.

By all accounts, she should at least get a second look for her sexy outfits, but she just exudes plainness. She's not cute in the face, she doesn't have a great body, her hair isn't particularly special, and her singing voice is pathetic.

For whatever reason, I simply cannot grasp anything sexual concerning Ms. Cyrus. It's just not there. Other Disney teen stars have grown up to be pretty sexy as adult women (Hillary Duff, for instance). Miley will always be a fifteen year old overbite having kid and I find any sexual thoughts about her to be repulsive.

If it weren't for that stupid show, Billy Ray would have swallowed a shotgun a long time ago. Guy had like no money left, so he whored his daughter out for kids programming and jumped on the bandwagon, gladly cashing the paychecks the whole time.

What people are missing is that LOL wasn't targeted at teens. If Lionsgate thought it was they need to lay off the crack. You can rarely remake a French comedy and then try to target kids.

It's essentially an indy film designed to break her out of Disney fare, and it may well do that. Plus, with an $11 million budget they'll be fine. I would imagine dvd sales by pervs wanting to watch the shower film will cover that nicely.

Sorry, but after the blood rushes back to the upper brain, and you can read the rest, this is PG-13 movie. I don't think we've ever seen lower nether regional exposure in a PG-13.
