Mock26: How is it a security risk? And can you quote the secret service regulation that it was not allowed?

Behold:

Guideline D: Sexual Behavior of the December 2009 Adjudicative Guidelines for Determining Eligibility for Access to Classified Information states:

The Concern: Sexual behavior that involves a criminal offense, indicates a personality or emotional disorder, reflects lack of judgment or discretion, or which may subject the individual to undue influence or coercion, exploitation, or duress can raise questions about an individual's reliability, trustworthiness and ability to protect classified information. No adverse inference concerning the standards in the Guideline may be raised solely on the basis of the sexual orientation of the individual.

Conditions that could raise a security concern and may be disqualifying include:

•sexual behavior of a criminal nature, whether or not the individual has been prosecuted;
•a pattern of compulsive, self-destructive, or high-risk sexual behavior that the person is unable to stop or that may be symptomatic of a personality disorder;
•sexual behavior that causes an individual to be vulnerable to coercion, exploitation, or duress;
•sexual behavior of a public nature and/or that which reflects lack of discretion or judgment.

It's not a bar against posting on FARK. Usually.

Five pages of comments, and no one takes any notice of the rather sketchily described and frequently omitted "military personnel"?

I'm rather surprised that the reporters haven't really started on that one yet. Maybe one news story pursued it at all, and they got it wrong.

HBK: cman: She is Britishly hot, but not Kim Kardashian hot

That whore is hotter than Kim Kardashian, and she's probably smarter and classier as well.

It's not like Kim Kardashian sets the bar very high.

Yes- this would be a dictionary example of "damning with faint praise."

Moron(s) should have paid the $800 and no one would have been the wiser. This crap goes on ALL the time with police and government agents.

Pay the what you owe rather than causing a scene and getting fired, ruining it for everyone else, and being made into an international news story.

Secret Service isn't very Secret when EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE GLOBE knows your business.

Which is one reason I'm surprised she's alive. If they got rid of her due to national security concerns, some people would still have their jobs.

So to you this is only a topic that revolves around sex, and has nothing at all to do with the fact that they were there to perform an essential security function of protecting the President?

They were the advance team and the President had not yet arrived in the country. And, if they were not on duty and did not break the law then what is the problem?

You think all jobs are 8 to 5? Clock out and don't worry about anything until the morning? What are you, a walmart stock boy?

Bessame:I don't have access to secret service manuals. Are you really trying to put forth the idea that secret service agents while on an assignment in a foreign country preparing for a presidential visit are allowed to visit legal prostitutes while not strictly on the clock? Is that what you are trying to say?
Seriously?

If they're not a breaking the law I don't really see the problem. Lots of members of the armed forces routinely do this. If you're concerned about "honeypots" well, what if a CIA agent met a girl (not a prostitute) at a bar and took her back to his room? This is a perfectly normal human activity and not illegal, yet she could be some kind of agent looking to gain information, is this kind of thing banned also? Lots of people like to party, lots of people like to meet new people, make friends and yes, have sex. I trust that they are professionals and can manage their personal life in a manner that does not affect their jobs. Now these guys may have behaved in an irresponsible manner, I don't really know or care, but engaging in legal activity in a foreign country that doesn't affect your job I do not have a problem with.

I didn't say it was allowed, I said I don't have a problem with it. And I think this is one of those things that might be officially banned but is fairly common and tolerated as long as you're discreet about it, in this case they were everything but discreet.

Having served in the US Navy, I can tell you innocent civilians that the sheer amount of whoring that goes on with military personnel overseas would SHOCK you. Married, religious, moral...it doesn't matter. When you can have a hot 18-20 year old whore for the entire evening until morning for (back then) around 15 dollars, there's almost no option to say no...

On my ship, when we pulled into a port - around 80% of the dudes (officers and enlisted) would hook up.

Father_Jack: 2. americans travel little and dont understand what goes on when people are travelling on business, even when its SRS GOVT BSNS.

I've traveled a pretty fair amount on business. London and San Fran within the last month. I've seen fair piece, and a few times ended up in a Ukranian hooker disco. I can't say that this whole thing shocks me a whole lot, but I've never ended up flat-out whoring. You got yourself a pretty broad brush there.

She's also a hooker in Colombia, so there's that.

Though I can almost guarantee there are several reality show producers talking to her pimp right now.

Not hard to imagine that sleeping with some ho's might be considering in the same light.

I've dealt with plenty of Americans who travel to China and HK for business. I think they understand fine what goes on overseas. And even if its their first time abroad, they've seen plenty of Vietnam war movies/World of Suzie Wong and heard from ex-military stationed in Asian bases or other businessmen who have travelled there, to already have some expectation on chasing or paying for tail.

That said, I doubt the concerns of the US businessman is the same as someone involved in security. The most these guys worry about is how to justify the expense if they actually think they can get the company to cover their costs. Or the misuss at home finding out.

She probably put the squeeze on for some extra cash when she found out who they were. When they get a client that really doesn't want exposure, it's a no-brainer for them.

The price just went up and you can pay, or the pimp starts making phone calls. I can't believe the guy was dumb enough to refuse. Cutting your losses is never a bad thing.

Where is your sense of compassion? Why do you have to be so vicious? It's just a lonely man who wanted a little excitement. That kind of thing happens every day. Everybody does it!

Its only a big deal because we have the religious types screaming about morals.

It was two consenting adults, I really dont see how money being exchanged makes much of a difference. When a man buys his wife a fancy ring, and she puts out that night, the bible bashers arent screaming about prostitution...yet its essentially the same thing. Something of value in exchange for sex.

800 dollars for a colombian hooker is WAY too high. I know a thing or two about Colombian hookers and no way in hell does a girl charge that much to stay the night. 300 at MOST. They are some of the hottest women you will ever meet, though. Colombians, Venezuelans, and Costa Rica women. Their vaginas are about 4 degrees hotter than you average vagina. God Bless the girl in this article.

THIS!

same as here in switzerland.

Indeed, because of the bilateral agreements switzerland has set up with the EU countries (as switzerland isnt part oft he EU but negotiated treaties individually with virtually every country in it in order to get the benefits of membership without having to pay anything to brussells or listen to them if they don't feel like, aren't they smart?), its very easy for "talent" to come in and work for 90 days then go back to their home countries. So chicks from all over come to the big cities here, whore for a few months, then like so many migratory birds (heh) go back to hungary or Romania or wherever. Its sort of like how US kids work in fisheries in Alaska for the summer.

This, coupled with the fact that you can legally be a hooker here at sixteen (although theyre changing that to 18 I think), means that cities like zurich and Geneva are absolutely CRAWLING with very young prostitutes. Its actually kind of shocking how many there are.

Theyre registered with the authorites, are obliged to get checkups etc and they keep a pretty orderly lid on it here. Its sleazy but not as criminal gang controlled as it is in many other places.
