Perhaps I'm idealistic, but I expect the Secret Service to be above this kind of behavior while on assignment; I'm former Army Reserves so no, from my observation/experience, I don't hold the standard to our entire military since it would be impossible to enforce, but that's the sole agency I do expect it of. Sure they're human and maybe while they're at home and off their shift, whatever they want to get up to assuming it's legal.

But in a foreign country, doing advance work for a presidential visit? Every one of them deserves to get sacked. I just sincerely hope it was isolated and not an agency wide attitude. I don't care who the president is or his/(her) party, they need to be VIGILANT, not picking up locals for some fun.

Also... really? Those guys felt the need to pay for this kind of thing? I'd expect it would be easy enough to snag some ladies of loose morals...

Sorry. I was thinking about this earlier but didn't mention it here; while I don't know for sure without researching, I have to think the Secret Service is subject to something LIKE UCMJ; UCMJ definitely has rules against adultery, which some of these guys were doing, and again while I'd have to research it, I suspect there are rules against prostitutes no matter if it's legal in that country or not. Also as I said later, they were on assignment

I don't care if they're technically off shift, foreign country + presidential duty = do not screw around during your downtime. I'd say the same to any gov't soldier/MP/security/etc in a potential combat zone.

I can't decide what is the saddest and most disgusting aspect of this whole sorry affair:

1. A guy decides to throw away arguably the best career in the world: Bodyguard to the freaking President of the United States! Travel, exotic locales, oodles of money, you get to carry a gun, nobody farks with you anywhere on the planet...and this jerk has to go whoring around instead of doing his job. Now that's sad. But..

2. Having decided "Hey! I think I'll pick up a cheap hooker, have some fun for the night," (he's a hard-working young guy, okay, whatever) he can't even be discreet about it OR decent, but has to shortchange her on her services and not even pay her for a night's work??? Dude! You're from America! You make more in a day than she sees all month! Pay the woman! but no, he's so arrogant and entitled he figures "She got a good US Lay, she can't complain!" That's sad. But...

3. Having decided to toss her ass to the curb, this mook can't even understand that he's in Colombia, arguably the most criminal country in the world that has a functioning government. He actually thought this girl was like some $20 whore in DC who would slink away in silence?!? This biatch's pimp is probably the chief of police or something and she has to give him 50% of her take. The agent is just lucky he didn't wake up in an alley with his kneecaps where his genitals used to be! (And vice versa)

That's just stupidity to the nth power. The whole thing is just so screwed up, I hope the whole lot of them hang, plus the Marines who were with them. If you can't do your job, at least have the decency to pay your tab.
