Stupid lib gets mad at O'Reilly and yells stupid stuff. How shocking.

Will CurrentTV last longer than AirAmerica did? Can't they just go ahead and file for bankruptcy now and save a lot of stupid yelling?

Welll...

On his Current TV show last night, Cenk Uygur was discussing the group Color of Change and how Bill O'Reilly had referred to groups like it, as fascists. "Alright Bill - you want to play name-calling games?," said Uygur. "No problem. You are a goddamn Nazi. That's what you are, OK? You're going to call us fascists all day long, and we're not going to respond? Well, those days are over, Nazi."

So his so-called Godwinning was retaliatory against that spotted turd, Bill O'Reilly.

Note: I heard Stephanie Miller is on Current now, but I haven't bothered to see if I get that channel. But her radio show is funny.

Also, whenever I see the name Cenk Uygur, I think of Cirith Ungol. Not the Middle Earth tower, the horrible band.

The TV show is a live simulcast of the radio programme. 0600 Pacific time. And funnier.

Actually, I'd say that a silly response to being called a fascist by telling them that makes them a nazi is just the kind of game Jon would play. He'd have one of his staff handle it for him, but it would fit right in on his show.

There's a problem with that assumption subby, he has a large audience (look on The Young Turks).

Cenk needs to learn the unwritten rule of American liberalism: No matter how many times conservatives call you a fascist, a communist, a socialist, a traitor, or anti-American, you are NEVER allowed to respond in kind. EVAR.

If O'Reilly tells you to shut up, you do it. If Ted Nugent makes borderline or outright treasonous comments, just let it slide. If you go to a gun show and see those joke liberal-hunting permits, remember, it's just a joke. Never raise your voice. Never respond in kind. Never lose your temper. Be like our president. Just smile and take it.

I hate Young Turks. You click on a related video about something you are interested in and wish to view but it ends up being that Cenk asshole talking about this video you want to see. Dicks.

That is such bullshiat, the amount of times I've called the GOP fascist is incredibly high, and most of the liberals I knew said it constantly when dumbass Dubya was president. The Democratic elites are the ones that are the pussies.

Current was better when it was a fully corporate PBS, airing documentaries nobody watched and random user videos.

I guess the investors got impatient. I give it another year before it gets sold off, airing shiatty reality shows and more entertainment news.

2012-04-20 07:17:08 AM
I used to listen to Cenk on the "Young Turks" radio show on Sirius before the show went to Air America. It was a good show on Sirius since it was as much about Cenk cruising the singles scene and teasing the hot Jill Pike as it was about politics. He also had another guy (Ben something) who would haul Cenk back from the deep zone and keep him on track.

Nope...they will stay around

The same people who believe Scientist Al Gore on the Global Warming Hoax will support News Mogul Al Gore thru the crap known as Current

Kinda funny all the whining about Current from the same people who still fall for Gore's Global Warming BS

Current actually was an interesting channel when they just had ad hoc and amateur video reporters with their 5 minute documentaries. Some weird stuff, but interesting

That's what happens when pundits decide to play media mogul. Current TV had a small but (maybe) promising future but they tossed that aside in favor of shock-pundits.

Current has the same problem that Air America did: progressives have jobs. Conservatives have all the time in the world to watch Fox News because they're all in nursing homes waiting for their children to call.

Oh, it carries over into all aspects of life. Things that make money are good, and things that make more money are better! Fox News has great ratings, so it's obviously the best news source in America!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to have the finest cuisine America has to offer, the Dorito taco.

Or maybe they are those never held a job stay at home moms who are also watching anything but Current TV or listening to Air America.

The problem isn't the progressives have jobs. All indications from the OWS protest is that they don't have jobs. (Well except of rich ones like Penn and Moore). Even if they did have jobs they could be DVRing the programs, podcasts etc.....If they were really that interested.

Actually the real is that the programs whine and snivel so much. Granted you get that on the Hannity, O'Reilly but progressive programing out does them by a factor of 5 Current /Air America is/was always so negative. It is like constantly watching a show with some person crying on a news cast over some personal tragedy coupled with a person whining about how their government check did not arrive. Rarely is there anything positive. It is always about how government failed to pay for this for somebody or failed to regulate that or somebody has more than they do and unfair that is.

Who needs constant exposure to all that negativity?

Why anybody watches Current, MSNBC or Hannity , O'Reilly is beyond me. Who need all that shouting. I would much rather listen to the BBC (recognizing its own biases) which is so much more mellow in contrast.

Our cable political news may be more subdued, too, if our legislative bodies were permitted to behave as the House of Commons does.

Current TV has been around for at least a few years now. I discovered it because of Sarah Haskins. I wish there was something like this on FOX:

Birth Control
Doofy Husbands
Get Wimmins Jewelry!

I would contend that it's not fair to lump MSNBC with Hannity or O'Reilly. When an MSNBC host makes a mistake, they do a correction. MSNBC doesn't argue solely on the basis of fear. MSNBC and Fox have different goals. The former wants to win the argument using logic and reason. Fox News blows as many dog whistles as they can to trick the frightened and stupid who believe them.

As Germany (Nazi) witnessed, fascists (Italy) are pussies. So this Cenk Uygur should bow down to O'Reilly cause O'Reilly is his better.

FTFY

The best way to describe the commentators on both major news networks is histrionic smugness. Both hide behind assertions that the other side simply isn't educated enough, which, while statistically slightly more true in the case of the libs, is still absolute rubbish. Even more mild-mannered and floundering CNN is full of the smug.

Maddow is the closest thing to O'Reilley I've seen - constantly skewing, fabricating, and obfuscating to demonize the other side and/or rally her base. Every single time I have watched her, she was at least disingenuous.

For example, my radical left mother-in-law was constantly coming to me with the scares that supposedly were in Obamacare that she had picked from Maddow's critiques. While no fan of the bill, my favorite was when Maddow asserted that it "further restricted a woman's right to choose", even though the New York Times article she was citing for this assertion specifically discussed how the status quo would be preserved.

Olbermann is just living in some paranoid fantasy-land. Thank God he's going away.

/Fareed Zakariah and Shepard Smith remain the only "big names" worth watching these days.
//News-wise, us moderates are always bridesmaid and never brides.
