(Politico)   Well the one good thing about Ted Nugent's NRA convention rant is that it was so irresponsible and inappropriate that no mainstream poltician could possibly still support him right? I mean except for Allen West of course   (politico.com) divider line 110

He's also been overrated to an extreme, by those who think volume = skill in playing a musical instrument. He doesn't even rank in the top 500 of rock guitarists.

I completely agree.

I love that the right feels compelled to circle the wagons every time one of their own says something stupid or dangerous.

The scrub filling in for Limbaugh today was reduced to pounding on the table about Jeremiah Wright in some bizarre attempt at creating an equivalence argument. Pretty amusing.

To be fair, when Jeremiah Wright said "God Damn America, and Kill Whitey", that was a little over the top.

Actually, they should all support him, or at least his right to act like a boorish fool. Strictly speaking, he hasn't even done anything illegal in that his statements have not met the Brandenberg standard of "imminent lawless action".

The right to say (more or less) whatever you want to is a big part of what makes this country great, even if it does make us all look bad to the rest of the world. Unlike Ted, people have actually fought for that right. You would think that would make him pause, but there's no accounting for people who take rights for granted when others have already done the dirty work for them.

I support Ted Nugent being either dead or in jail. Anything to shut him up. I'm sick of hearing the verbal turds that come out of his mouth, and the average welfare recipient contributes more to society every day than The Nuge has contributed in his entire life.

Seriously, his "music" made rock (as a whole) worse. And he's obviously compensating for a micropenis that ensured that the groupies would just laugh at him. Rock stars who get laid don't turn into bitter old men.

I don't have a GED in law (or a GED-in-law, for that matter), so maybe I'm wrong, but isn't inciting armed morons io violently overthrow the government against some law?

I mean, anyone who's gullible enough to send scam artists like the NRA money is clearly easily led and that makes them dangerous.

What did he even do? I mean what did he contribute to the world that we just have to keep hearing from him? I know it's not my generation but I saw Dazed and Confused and they played Cat Scratch Fever. That was his, right? Okay. I do remember reading an interview with him in some guitar magazine and he talked about getting stopped by a cop and how he had to restrain himself from shooting the cop. Okay. Can the Baby boomers just farking die already? Especially the rock stars.

...let's leave it up to the Secret Service to interview him and get to the bottom of it," West, a Florida Republican, told CNN's Soledad O'Brien when asked about Nugent's comments.

Sounds like West actually supports a Secret Service investigation. I wouldn't concede that a Secret Service investigation is appropriate. Nugent's comments were clearly protected by the First Amendment. A government investigation into clearly protected free speech chills free speech for everyone who might speak out against the government.

You know, I really do not like his music. Actually, it's fair to say I despise it. And he is a certifiably nut case. But, the notion that he didn't get laid is, well, laughable. That guy was a legendary poon hound in his heyday. He doesn't drink (at least not excessively, but I thought he was a teetotaler), doesn't smoke, doesn't do drugs, and so for fun, he chased tail. And lots of it. Copious amounts of tail., if you will.

The very people that still buy into his act, cheer mightily at his insane rantings, are the very people that ignored Bush II's military service whilst castigating Clinton as a draft dodger. The same people that mocked Gore and Kerry who actually served in Vietnam are the cowards, whereas Limbaugh, Nugent, Bush II, Cheney, Gingrich, etc.. are the true American heroes.

Sorry kids, I no longer believe these morons are on the same level as you and I, in fact I think they are either A.) remnants of Neanderthal breeding who have yet to fully evolve into homosapien, or B.) they are just f**king retards that should be ostracized from ever giving an opinion or thought again.

There was no incitement of violence. Mr. Nugent was urging people to turn out and vote against Obama in November. That's protected by the First Amendment.

The war criminal and the chickenhawk are really providing a service. They help rational people set their moral compass. As long as these two dipshiats aren't on your side you can assume that you are still a moral human being.

I believe it was the world renowned Shakespearean scholar, Violent J from the Insane Clown Posse, that summed up The Nuge quite succinctly back in 1999: "F**k Nugent, like anybody gives a f**k
You like to hunt a lot, so f**kin' what?!" That's off the album: "The Amazing Jeckel Brothers" in a song "F**k The World". In that song, they say the F-word 93 times so don't bother trying to analyze the rhymes.

Can I write out the F-word if it's a quote and I cite a source?

The NRA Announces "All In"

And there was a professional Second Amendment extremist named Stephen Burke who is a loud and boastful retired lance corporal who displays a photo of himself with NRA Executive Vice President & CEO Wayne LaPierre on his professional website. The only thing he abhors more than gun control is silence. When a conversation about former New York Governor George Pataki's pro-gun record entered a lull, he asked the group what sounded like an American history riddle or piece of trivia: "What do Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and Barack Obama have in common?"
The collective intelligence of the minibus was stumped. After a few beats, he delivered the answer: "Nothing. Yet."

/funny stuff from the NRA

Bullet the Blue Sky, which is an anti gun rights song. Maybe they were trying to make a statement by ripping off the Nugent song, but they basically just put new words to the unchanged music. Nugent should sue them and give the money to the NRA.
