Maybe it's where they get their talking points so they can have something in church to be angry about.

The fear of being accused of having "Liberal Bias" trumps the need to put anyone other than conservatives on the shows, but, even if "Meet The Press" was an hour-long discussion titled "If Ronald Reagan was a Monster Truck crushing school buses full of Communists and Socialists, how many buses would he crush?" "This Week" was nothing more than Mitt Romney's latest commercial on a loop and "Face The Nation" was just Ted Nugent reading FreeRepublic posts on Monday Rush and Hannity and FoxNews would still do stories about how the liberal media refuses to talk to Republicans.

I stopped watching Sunday morning "news" after Russert died.

Why should I waste my time watching old white men yell at each other when I could be enjoying pre-marital sex and Bloody Marys.

2012-04-19 12:58:04 PM
The insanity of today's "conservatives" means that their ranting makes for better TV. Say what you will, but they're entertaining.

You should check out Up With Chris (MSNBC). It's very well done, good guests and discussions, excellent research and monologues.

...it's not Chris Matthews, is it? I can't stand that guy.

Mainly, I'd rather read my news online.

No, I cannot stand Matthews either. It's Chris Hayes. You would enjoy the show.

Yeah, same here... though instead of pre-marital sex and Bloody Marys it's breakfast with the wife and a joint out on the patio.

It's laughable that people still think the "Liberal media" is anything more than a Republican talking point.

no, they're f*cking nuts. if they didn't vote, THEN they'd be entertaining. the fact that they're crazy and vote makes them dangerous.

I do like him quite a bit. I'll check it out. I generally avoid all TV news, even TDS/Colbert and Maddow.

Especially now that there's baseball.

I can understand avoiding news, TDS/Colbert and Maddow. What I can't understand is actually watching baseball...by choice.

Exactly right. News Corp has been astoundingly effective at guiding the narrative for old media this country.

Oh, that's interesting. It's probably a good idea. There are sometimes when there are a couple of really amazing headlines that could both work.

Or it's just a story that needs to be retold at a certain time, or an oldie but goodie video or something.

this is nothing new. the so-called mainstream media has been virulently anti-obama the whole campaign so far.

they're terrified of being called liberal. this is why they repeat GOP talking points verbatim, regardless of how false or misleading. it's why this election will be close, despite the fact that it should be a massive landslide for the dems.

This all stems from the lack of availabilty of liberals on the Sunday morning shows. What with their late night turtle orgies and the fact that they know the personalities of the shows are just going to spout off left wing talkingpoints, why should they wake up early?

Actually, if you are a Republican, you are a literal troll. By definition.

You DO get to choose what kind of troll you want to be, though. Do you want to live under a bridge and charge people to cross it (that would be the "Libertarian Troll" option), or do you want to have crazy neon hair that sticks straight up and big crazy eyes (that would be the "Michelle Bachmann Troll" option)?

I wonder if it has anything to do with a Republican primary that has been going on for the past year?

In other news, a link between people being diagnosed with cancer and people who breath air has been found.

I'm all for the REPEAT tag (the penguin headline from the other day was awesome), but why is this being posted again?

The headline is nothing special, nor is the article.

Anyone have a good bloody mary recipe they want to share? I really want to like them, but I've never had one that wasn't disappointing.

On topic, this story isn't at all surprising. Who else but old people are sitting around watching news on a Sunday morning? Of course the shows are going to pander to them.
