He needs to believe. Accepting that there was something wrong with the actions of Zimmerman probably requires him to challenge his beliefs in a way that he can't accept.

at best you could *maybe* make the case that zimmerman might have some injuries to the back of his head (its a bit of a stretch but hey, you're welcome to try). But there is no evidence of a broken nose.
