Then why did PETA start their "Unhappy Meals" campaign? The same principle applies. Either kids share responsibility for the animals they eat, or they don't. If they do, PETA is making a special exemption for Obama. If they don't, the "Unhappy Meals" campaign is disingenuous, and should be stopped.

Can't have it both ways.

Although, come to think of it, PETA murders thousands of dogs every year. Now, they want to say eating dog is OK.

Why does PETA hate dogs?

Because often kids walk over to McDonald's and buy their own Happy Meals, using money they earned at the factory that week.

I don't think the unhappy meal campaign is blaming kids, rather trying to `educate' them as well as their parents to what PETA believes is right. Maybe they feel that if they can get to the kids, they can get to the parents through them.

I don't support PETA in any way nor do I care if Obama ate dog, just saying I don't see anything contrary between the two.

Yes, but at that time the republican presidential candidate didn't need a counter to an animal abuse story he shared.

This is why I think the whole "ZOMG He ate DOG!" counterattack will fail: it is drawing attention to the fact that Obama comes off as more worldly than Romney, who is so Rich Monochromatic Shiny White American Guy that it hurts.

Fine. Then PETA should still be using this as a "teachable moment", and demanding Obama revise his book to remove that anecdote or include warnings against eating dog, right? I mean, even if Obama the kid didn't have a choice of what he ate, Obama the adult has a choice of what ethical lesson he chooses to impart.

Seriously.

I've also already gotten sick of the daily "Breaking News" stories on CNN with the results of their daily presidential polls between Obama and Romney.

/the only poll that should be "Breaking News" is the one on November 6th.

For about two weeks after it started, didn't The Daily Caller actually pretend like it was going to be an intellectually serious conservative web site? Now it's basically like one of those just-this-side-of-birther wingnut blogs that gets submitted to TF every time Obama eats a "fancy hamburger."

In Korea dog is considered a delicacy, at least by some people there.

Other than our affection for dogs, there is no fundamental difference between eating dog meat and cow meat.

One can eat either without "abusing" the animal

Let me see, it is mid April and the election is not until November, and we have a story out about Obama eating dog meat as a child. Are we really going to start here when it comes to attacking a presidential candidate? I guess I should not be surprised given what we've seen already this election cycle. I will say that I'm going to be dialing back the Fark if this is going to be the type of thing that starts making it to the Main page for the next 6 months. The Politics page I can see, but this sort of nonsense should stay there.

Stop trying to bring logic to Republican attacks on Obama. They haven't used it for years.
