Spoilers: You gon' die, subby.

2012-04-19 08:21:39 AM
And I'm assuming that "sip" means "less than 10 cc"

2012-04-19 08:26:15 AM
With that list I don't think you're likely to survive an episode.

2012-04-19 08:45:55 AM
Never play the "Touch" drinking game. It has one rule: drink every time Kiefer says, "Jake."

2012-04-19 08:48:48 AM
You need to add another condition. Take a sip every time someone gets naked.

2012-04-19 08:56:33 AM
Take a drink every time you don't get HBO!

2012-04-19 08:56:48 AM
Semi Spoiler:

So the dwarf guy is dead? He was my favorite.

2012-04-19 09:01:50 AM
Finish your drink every time a main character dies.

no

I have a better idea: how bout a game where you take a drink every time you see a dumb ass headline on Fark that got greenlit?

2012-04-19 09:15:21 AM
Drink every time another set of entirely superfluous characters is introduced.

Wait, that's more books three, four, and five.

2012-04-19 09:16:07 AM
The shot side is doable, but the sipping side will win you a trip to the hospital and a stomach pump.

brienne?

i wanted to type a whole bunch of names but now midway thru the most recent book i see that most of them do indeed have a role to play at some point.

That's already covered on the shot side.

LoTR has one gollum character device, GoT has like 20.

All I'm going to say about the Brienne of Tarth story is it pissed me off. She's a good character, too.

2012-04-19 09:38:58 AM
Sip every time a character smirks
Sip every time we meet a new prostitute
Sip every time a dire wolf is shown
Drink every time someone mentions Valyrian steel.
Drink every time someone recites their house's "words"
Finish your drink if you see a Lannister paying his debts
Chug the whole bottle if Winter actually comes

2012-04-19 09:39:17 AM
characters i want to see come to conclusion:

- Lady Stoneheart, AKA Zombie YouknowWho
- John Strong, AKA Zombie YouKnowWho
- Reek AKA YouKnowWho and want to see strung up by his intestines
- Pretty much all of the Iron Born... a lot was invested in them in book3 that seems at this poitn to've gone nowhere
- The freakin' BOLTONS.
- Dany's homies

oh, and i gotta say...just getting into the 5th book, was SO not expecting the Jon/Janos Slynt thing to get resolved as quickly as it did. Was totally expecting a harry/malfoy type thorn in the side relationship. heh. nope.

at this point, her primary role appears to be cleaning up a number of the vile characters which are less prevalent than her but are in more than one book.

and by clean up i mean sword to the face or bowels.

Nah, I was thinking more of the boys from Dorne, the guys from the Iron isles, and those guys on the houseboat.

Also, fatfark Tarly. Why, oh, why.

I like him. Redemption stories are cool.

hmm. as far as i can tell, his story has been resolved. But, well, as we have seen characters can come back after seemingly meeting their demise. at least as far as i have read, this is not an open point to me.

theres a couple of those in GoT... like with Jamie.

Problem is, sometimes those type of stories dont work because what the characters do harden your heart towards them and you cant feel empathy towards them any longer.

jamie pushed bran out a window. he tried to kill a kid. sorry this sorta does it for me. i know many of his other points are explained later and make sense, but i cant get passed this.

same with Reek. What he does before he takes that name is just... unforgiveable and it'll be hard for me to empathize with him enough to allow him redemption.

The Hound, for example, that story worked.

I really want to know what is going on with the iron born and martells and HOW THE HELL THEY FIT IN WITH THE STORY!

Not going into spoilers I can see some hints with Victorian, but I was left hanging.

He needs to start bring everyone together again for the conclusion and it only slowly started happening.

The suffering that reek goes through, while it is absolutely deserved, made me empathetic to him eventually.

Yeah well Peter Dinklage is way too good looking for Tyrion and no one would honestly mistake the girl playing Arya for a boy, but that's just the way adaptational attractiveness works.

I'm pretty sure the Hound killed a few kiddies as well. That was kind of in his job description.

Also, I'm still not convinced HBO's Sansa can play Martin's later-books 'cool' Sansa.

We know the Hound killed at least one kid.

HBO's Sansa has a couple of years to grow into that role. I'm sure they'll give her acting lessons.

The Hound finds no joy in his work, he just does it and moves on. He even gives out advice to few others along the same lines. The Hound is aptly named, he is loyal and follows orders. But he sure as hell isn't happy about it.

Yeah, and that guy who plays Tyrion is also way too attractive! What's up with them trying to get the best actors for the roles instead of the people who just happen to look the most like the characters as they are described in the book?

Man, no wonder this show has been such a ratings failure!

i think dorne and the ironborn are both competing for dany. the ironborn have ships. dany needs to cross the Narrow Sea.

whats less clear is what the dornish have to offer dany.

i think RR martin is setting them up as the two big house rivals for danys hand. whats not clear to me at all is tho, what dayn has to gain from allying with the ironborn, theyre pretty clear on where women belong in society and dany wouldnt accept that. the dornish society would probably appeal more to her as women have more rights, but how they can get her across the sea is unclear.

guess well see in book 6

She's 6 foot 3 inches tall - see how she towered over Lady Stark - and I love short hair. I'm turned on even if she never shows the bewbies.
