Congrats. Break a leg!

Maybe you can get them to show some of FARK's photoshop entries as you go in and out of commercial.

Or have a cartoon segment where all the characters have FARK screen names.

Step 1)Go into attic to open up my storage box of Star Trek figures, and bust out the Wil Wheaton action Figure. I'll make guys like "The Comic Book Guy" cry by opening the package and repainting the figure to transform him into TV's/VH1's Wil Wheaton. Complete with Uncle Willy's Guinness drinking-Poker losing action.

Step 2) ?

Step 3) Profit. (most likely Ebay)

wunnuy He's the most famous farker of us all, except Walken. We support him and revel in his success because we helped. He's also a cool guy.

2003-10-31 04:55:34 PM
what do all you people hope to gain by kissing the ass of a pseudo-celebrity. i'm sure he's a nice guy, but who cares?

He's a farker and we root for other Farkers. It's called "being nice."

Dumbass

2003-10-31 04:57:38 PM
Walken doesn't actually read Fark as far as I know.

2003-10-31 04:57:49 PM
JohnnyontheSpot, what about (macho-man)Randy Savage? He's a little more well known that Wil?

2003-10-31 04:59:13 PM
Oh, and congrats, Wil. You will do great.

I guess this means it is time for me to look at my 30-something self in the mirror also -- the wife and kids, the mini-van and the cubicle-dwelling job -- and realize that I am exactly the target audience of VH1.

Listening to my Clash CD wondering "really? I am VH1's target audience?"

2003-10-31 05:01:16 PM
Go Wil! w00t! This r0x0rz!!!1!!

2003-10-31 05:04:21 PM
Mirrorz

"...what about (macho-man)Randy Savage? He's a little more well known that Wil?

Can anyone prove this is in fact the Macho Man and not some 15 yr old from Des Moines? Cause, I'm a doubter.

2003-10-31 05:04:35 PM
Congrats Wil! You're representing all us farkers now. Make us proud!

2003-10-31 05:04:52 PM
Dear Wil,

Glad to hear about the VH1 gig, I'll let Fox know you won't be available for Celebrity Boxing this season.

Your pal,

Fetus

2003-10-31 05:05:26 PM
Who told you you had a big fat one Bill_Wick's_Friend?

Don't antogonize me, I can't stop. Some one please help.

2003-10-31 05:06:28 PM
Yeah Wil!!! Maybe now you can kiss one of the Judds that's into the music thing. But seriously, congrats!

2003-10-31 05:07:53 PM
the_marq, I'm doubter too simply because Macho-Man's vocabulary is limited to grunts, moans, "oh yeah's," and "slim jim." His oscar winning performance in Spiderman made me think twice though.

2003-10-31 05:09:09 PM
Wil,

Please ensure the role of "Bill Wick's Friend" is played by Edward Norton or Abe Vigoda.

Thanks,

Matt

2003-10-31 05:15:13 PM
Wil,

Congrats on the new gig and for inspiring hope to all of us with stalled careers.

Holly

2003-10-31 05:16:21 PM
Mmmmm....Wil flame-war.

2003-10-31 05:16:22 PM
I haven't watched VH1 in years, but not for any particular reason. Now I have one.

2003-10-31 05:17:24 PM
Congratz!!

2003-10-31 05:18:16 PM
So, a test implies it's down to Wheaton and x number of competitors? Isn't the excitement a tad premature?

2003-10-31 05:19:30 PM
wil, you.... YEAAHHHH!!!!!!

(so, any chance i can get an interview for a geek radio sstation im going to start up on live 365?)

2003-10-31 05:19:41 PM
So did Will get a job or merely a tryout? All the congrats seem a little premature, no? Like "break a leg", you know, show-biz bad luck.
The premise of the show sounds lame, by the way.

2003-10-31 05:31:11 PM
Premise!

2003-10-31 05:33:27 PM
Congrats and good luck, Wil.

2003-10-31 05:39:33 PM
don't fark this up, dude, or your career will be over. Seriously.

2003-10-31 05:43:46 PM
Damn, I'd rather see Troi on VH-1, ahh well.

2003-10-31 05:44:42 PM
fudgefactor7 -

hahahahahahahaha. so true.

too bad nobody posted a link for me when i got a job at Popeye's Chicken.

2003-10-31 05:45:38 PM
Way to go Wil!

(he's still going to lose the job to Punky Brewster. Have you seen the jugs on that girl? rowr.)

2003-10-31 05:47:59 PM
Way to go Wil. Good Luck.

2003-10-31 05:53:53 PM
Congrats Wil! Best wishes and good luck on the test!

2003-10-31 06:04:18 PM
Bill_Wick's_Friend should be played by Ernest Borgnine or George C. Scott.

2003-10-31 06:13:42 PM
Excellent! Wil, if you come to New York for taping, give me a ring, I will buy you much beer.

2003-10-31 06:14:41 PM
good luck wil!

by the way, that punky brewster chick annoys the living fark out of me. just sharing.

Wil Wheaton, Supreme Commander, Internet Dumbshiat Core

2003-10-31 06:19:12 PM
Now if you could only do an episode of "Obsessed" with Christopher Walken, the circle would be complete. Or the 7th seal would crack, or something.

2003-10-31 06:25:54 PM
Mother Jesus Balls!

Best. Quote. Evar.

2003-10-31 06:30:01 PM
killerama!!! congrats, wil, and good luck!

2003-10-31 06:31:10 PM
A job doing what? And how did Fark help?

confused

2003-10-31 06:32:13 PM
Today - VH1, tomorrow - the world.

Go Wil!

2003-10-31 06:32:54 PM
Be right back. Gotta go "feed the dogs"....

The "test" means that the network wants to make sure I don't suck, and that the format (I talk to the people, I do the host wraps, I do . . . whatever it is that I do that makes me me) "works."

Also, AFAIK, I'm the only actor they're testing with.

So it's too early to buy everyone lapdances, but it's close enough to hire the bus to take us to the club, with a quick stop to pick up Fetus on the way.

2003-10-31 06:39:56 PM
freakin' farkin'tastic!

trystopheles:

love the "trolling" pic...

2003-10-31 06:47:07 PM
Nice going, Wil. You're going to do great.

You have a guaranteed audience of Farkers, so you can't lose.

*does, in fact, love the 80's*

2003-10-31 06:53:06 PM
wil: What you need now is a snappy catchphrase for the show. I suggest finding every way possible to work in the phrase "what the hell were you thinking?"

If that isn't acceptable, I recommend saying "what's that smell?" any time you enter a room.

2003-10-31 07:07:27 PM
Great stuff Wil! It's always great to see entertainers working their way up from the masses rather than being shoved down peoples throats from above

2003-10-31 07:08:24 PM
yeah, I missed something...

"Thank you Fark !"....

where'd fark come in at ?

Ade
2003-10-31 07:11:16 PM
Hey.. interesting trivia.

I formed my Fark account exactly one year after Wil did.

Huh.

2003-10-31 07:13:07 PM
Wil will,Wil will rock you?
meh

2003-10-31 07:18:24 PM
I haven't been keeping up... is Wil the new Space Ghost? That woul be cool...

2003-10-31 07:19:13 PM
Way to go Wil!!

I'm gonna have to buy cable now.

Good luck with this!
