I wonder how the GOP is going to spin mothers staying home to raise their kids as bad and evil.

Thanks for the awesome birthday present, Ann!

It's probably a bad sign that the little voices in my head just all started singing the Beatles' "Revolution", isn't it.

To be fair, some of them might not be White.

brilliant. and it will get zero traction in the mainstream media. that is, unless obama takes it and runs with it.

The Woman's Option to Raise Kids (WORK) Act

It's got a good beat and you can dance to it

Amusing and +1 for the democrats...but there's still that other part of me that thinks that we need some eugenics going on for those on welfare.

Nice. Democrats are getting good at this kind of stuff.

The Republicans are so eager to defend other Republicans that they are just too damn easy to troll anymore.

Um, how about free contraception and/or vasectomies/tubal ligations?

It's a well known fact that nearly all mothers who are on welfare or food stamps or receiving unemployment are either drug addicts or mentally unstable, so the less time they spend with their children the better.

I'm torn. This really sticks it to Republicans which is great, but I'm seriously tired of subsidizing babies and sanctimonious mothers.

Dammit, subby, that headline is supposed to end with "Republicans: *crickets*"

Oh my god I hate to use the phrase "real life troll" more than pretty much anything, but this is perfect. Even the NAME OF THE BILL is taking the piss out of the GOP. Awesome.

You know what? Fark it. Pay women to stay at home and raise kids. I'm all for it.
But end the war in Afghanistan and tax capital gains to pay for it.

Karma Chameleon: I'm torn. This really sticks it to Republicans which is great, but I'm seriously tired of subsidizing babies and sanctimonious mothers.

Well it's not like there's any danger of it actually passing. Just enjoy the GOP reaction.

2012-04-18 02:41:49 PM
Gotta love the left. Always looking for new ways to get other people to pay for other people choices. I wonder if they realize this money would likely pour into places like Mississippi and Alabama?

2012-04-18 02:41:50 PM
Also if this even makes it out of committee, it will not get a single Republican vote.

2012-04-18 02:41:55 PM
Oh this is just fng awesome!

For the record- I think we need serious welfare reform, but not during a recession.

2012-04-18 02:42:13 PM
How dare they use the GOP's own motivations against them!

2012-04-18 02:43:03 PM

Masso: Well, I'll be damn. I hope this Act get more media coverage.

Since it is unbalanced because it might show the Republicans to be wrong about something, the media won't report it in the interests of being "fair"

2012-04-18 02:43:30 PM
I give less than 24 hours until a Republican says "well, it counts for Romney because she was rich."

2012-04-18 02:43:35 PM
And we thought there was welfare queens under the old system. Let's create a system where as long as you pop a kid out every three years you can stay on welfare permanently. That's brilliant!

Well, birth control and abortion solves problems like these much cheaper and easier.

So you agree that most red states are disgusting welfare queens who couldn't live without suckling at the government teat. Further, you point out that these Republican states are filled with people who are hypocritical with respect to their own concept of personal responsibility.

Wow...we completely agree.

Or nip it in the bud with more funds for Planned Parenthood.

How about it counts for Romney because she wasn't asking somebody else to pick up the bill?

2012-04-18 02:45:17 PM
This is beautiful. Just beautiful.

See, Republicans, this is why Fark is so heavily Democratic. I mean, just put aside the fact that it's simply unethical to be anything but a Dem when they're the only political party offering to help other people and be basically normal, compassionate human beings instead of sociopaths; this sort of master trolling can only be learned by intense, devoted study. We must apprentice ourselves to the true masters of the craft and then, and only then, can we call ourselves even students in the Most Noble and Ancient Art of the Troll.

We don't care. We already know our tax dollars go to subsidize the whiny red states.

EWreckedSean: And we thought there was welfare queens under the old system. Let's create a system where as long as you pop a kid out every three years you can stay on welfare permanently. That's brilliant!

So what you're saying is that raising kids is only work when you're rich?

2012-04-18 02:46:41 PM
I'm surprised the Dems didn't add an amnesty for Illegals portion to this bill.

You think they really believe it has even the tiniest chance of passing?

They are pointing out the double standard of every tard who got upset over the recent comments on Ann's work.

Pretty sure you were one of them.

Also, I like how he assumes Democrats don't want to help people if they're living in red states. The idea of helping people no matter their personal ideology is so foreign, that it registers as a mistake. Sad, really.
